AIM Sports Inc 56 Round Shotgun Shell Bandolier Review

Let’s Dive into AIM Sports Inc 56 Round Shotgun Shell Bandolier

The AIM Sports Inc 56 Round Shotgun Shell Bandolier isn’t just a piece of gear; it’s a statement. Manufactured by AIM Sports, this bandolier offers a practical and, dare I say, stylish way to carry your 12 or 20 gauge shells. For someone with 10+ years of experience in the outdoor and tactical world, efficient ammo management is crucial, and I was on the hunt for a solution that blended capacity with comfort.

My search for a reliable and accessible shotgun shell carrier stemmed from years of fumbling with bulky vests and awkwardly positioned pouches during hunting trips and tactical training exercises. I was tired of the inconvenience and desperately needed something that could streamline my movements and give me quick access to my shells. The appeal of the AIM Sports Inc 56 Round Shotgun Shell Bandolier was immediate: its high shell capacity and over-the-shoulder design promised both accessibility and comfort.

Upon unboxing, the AIM Sports Shotgun Shell Bandolier felt surprisingly lightweight, weighing in at only 9.4 oz, despite its heavy-duty nylon construction. The stitching appeared robust, and the individual shell loops looked like they could provide a secure hold. My initial thought was that AIM Sports had prioritized practicality over flashy aesthetics, which is perfectly fine by me.

Compared to elastic shell carriers or bulky vests I’ve used, the AIM Sports Inc 56 Round Shotgun Shell Bandolier seemed less cumbersome and more streamlined. I also considered a shell belt, but those often dig into my waist after prolonged use. I ultimately chose the AIM Sports bandolier because of its over-the-shoulder design for even weight distribution and the promise of carrying a substantial amount of ammunition without feeling weighed down.

My first impression was a mix of excitement and cautious optimism. Could this simple nylon bandolier truly solve my ammo management woes, or would it be another piece of gear relegated to the back of the closet? Only real-world testing would tell.

Real-World Testing: Putting AIM Sports Inc 56 Round Shotgun Shell Bandolier to the Test

First Use Experience

I took the AIM Sports Inc 56 Round Shotgun Shell Bandolier to a local shooting range for its initial test. It was a relatively mild day, around 65 degrees Fahrenheit, with a slight breeze. I ran a variety of 12 gauge shells, from birdshot to buckshot, to assess its versatility.

The bandolier performed admirably. Shells were held securely in their loops, even during rapid movement drills. The over-the-shoulder design distributed the weight evenly, making it comfortable to wear even when fully loaded, and I appreciated the sewn ends.

After the first hour of use, I noticed a slight stiffness in the nylon, but nothing major. There were no immediate issues or surprises; the AIM Sports Inc 56 Round Shotgun Shell Bandolier performed exactly as advertised.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of use, the AIM Sports Shotgun Shell Bandolier has become a staple in my range and hunting gear. The heavy-duty nylon has proven to be surprisingly durable, with no signs of tearing or fraying, even after being exposed to dirt, mud, and light rain. Cleaning is simple: a quick wipe-down with a damp cloth is all it takes.

The shell loops have maintained their elasticity, continuing to grip shells firmly. While the nylon softened up slightly after the first few uses, it still retained its shape and structural integrity. Compared to other shell carriers I’ve used in the past, the AIM Sports Inc 56 Round Shotgun Shell Bandolier has definitely exceeded my expectations in terms of comfort, capacity, and durability.

Breaking Down the Features of AIM Sports Inc 56 Round Shotgun Shell Bandolier

Specifications

• Capacity: Holds fifty-six, 12 or 20 Gauge shotgun shells. This allows for significant firepower on hand.
• Material: Constructed from heavy-duty nylon. This ensures longevity and resilience in various conditions.
• Length: 26.5 inches. It fits most body types comfortably.
• Weight: 9.4 oz. It is lightweight to minimize burden during use.
• Design: Over-the-shoulder style. Weight distribution is made easy, and access is readily available.

These specifications are important because they directly impact the user’s experience. The high capacity allows for prolonged use without needing to reload often, while the durable nylon ensures the bandolier can withstand the rigors of outdoor use. The lightweight design minimizes fatigue, and the over-the-shoulder style provides easy access to shells when needed.

Performance & Functionality

The AIM Sports Inc 56 Round Shotgun Shell Bandolier excels at its primary function: holding and providing easy access to shotgun shells. The shell loops offer a secure grip, preventing shells from falling out during movement, but they are not too tight, allowing for quick extraction when needed. While some users reported that the shells require a “fight” to come out, this tightness is preferred over loose shells.

One minor weakness is that after prolonged use and repeated shell extraction, the loops might loosen slightly. However, this is a common issue with nylon shell carriers and can be mitigated by occasionally rotating the shells in the loops. Overall, the AIM Sports bandolier meets and even exceeds expectations for a product in its price range.

Design & Ergonomics

The AIM Sports Inc 56 Round Shotgun Shell Bandolier features a simple, functional design. The heavy-duty nylon feels rugged and durable, and the over-the-shoulder design distributes weight evenly across the upper body. There isn’t any learning curve to use this bandolier.

The length is suitable for most body types, though shorter individuals might find it a bit long. The sewn ends are an excellent touch, ensuring the bandolier lays flat on the shoulder.

Durability & Maintenance

Given its heavy-duty nylon construction, the AIM Sports Shotgun Shell Bandolier is built to last. It can withstand exposure to various weather conditions and rough handling. Maintenance is simple: a quick wipe-down with a damp cloth is sufficient to remove dirt and grime.

The bandolier is unlikely to require any repairs under normal use. The stitching appears to be of high quality, and the shell loops are reinforced to prevent tearing.

Accessories and Customization Options

The AIM Sports Inc 56 Round Shotgun Shell Bandolier doesn’t come with any accessories. However, its simple design makes it compatible with various tactical vests and chest rigs. There aren’t any specific customization options for the bandolier itself, but users can easily attach MOLLE-compatible pouches or accessories to the shoulder strap if desired.
