What Makes ZEV Technologies ZEV PRO Trigger Ultimate Kit Stand Out?
The ZEV Technologies ZEV PRO Trigger Ultimate Kit isn’t just another aftermarket trigger; it’s a meticulously engineered upgrade designed to redefine the shooting experience for Glock owners. Crafted by ZEV Technologies, a name synonymous with precision and performance in the firearms industry, this kit promises a crisp, clean trigger pull and enhanced reliability. ZEV Technologies claims their triggers have won more world championships than all other aftermarket triggers combined, a bold statement that certainly piqued my interest.
What initially drew me to the ZEV Technologies ZEV PRO Trigger Ultimate Kit was a nagging issue with the stock trigger on my Glock 19. The factory trigger felt spongy and inconsistent, hindering my accuracy and overall shooting enjoyment. I needed a trigger that offered a shorter, crisper pull with a more predictable break, something that would allow me to shoot faster and more accurately, especially in dynamic shooting scenarios.
Unboxing the ZEV Technologies ZEV PRO Trigger Ultimate Kit, I was immediately impressed by the quality of the components. The aluminum trigger pad felt solid and well-made, and the overall construction exuded precision. Compared to other drop-in trigger kits I’ve handled, the ZEV Technologies kit felt more substantial and thoughtfully designed.
I considered Apex Tactical’s Action Enhancement Kit and the Overwatch Precision TAC trigger, but the ZEV Technologies reputation for high-end performance and the promise of a truly refined trigger pull ultimately swayed my decision. First impressions were exciting; it seemed ZEV Technologies invested a lot to improve on the already great factory setup.
Real-World Testing: Putting ZEV Technologies ZEV PRO Trigger Ultimate Kit to the Test
First Use Experience
My first experience with the ZEV Technologies ZEV PRO Trigger Ultimate Kit was at my local shooting range, where I typically practice with my Glock 19. I ran a variety of drills, focusing on speed and accuracy at distances ranging from 7 to 25 yards. The difference was immediately noticeable.
The trigger pull was significantly lighter and crisper than the stock trigger. The reset was short and positive, allowing for faster follow-up shots. Even in slightly cold conditions, the trigger remained responsive and consistent. Initially, I experienced a much better trigger response and improved accuracy, making the upgrade worthwhile.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months and approximately 2,000 rounds fired with the ZEV Technologies ZEV PRO Trigger Ultimate Kit, it has held up exceptionally well. There are no signs of wear or tear on the trigger pad or other components. The trigger pull remains consistent, and I have experienced no malfunctions related to the trigger kit.
Maintenance is straightforward, requiring only occasional cleaning and lubrication of the trigger bar and connector. Compared to other aftermarket trigger kits I’ve used, the ZEV Technologies ZEV PRO Trigger Ultimate Kit requires less maintenance and has proven to be more reliable. It definitely outperformed the stock trigger and a cheaper aftermarket trigger I tested a few years back.
