First Impressions of Z-man Tiny Ticklerz Soft Bait
The Z-man Tiny Ticklerz Soft Bait is the newest addition to Z-man’s already impressive lineup of ElaZtech offerings. Designed as a downsized version of the popular TRD TicklerZ, these little morsels promise to be dynamite for panfish and trout. As an avid angler with over a decade of experience, I’m always on the hunt for the next secret weapon, and these little guys piqued my interest immediately.
I was searching for a more finesse approach to panfish. Larger presentations sometimes spook finicky fish, especially in pressured waters. The Z-man Tiny Ticklerz Soft Bait seemed like the perfect solution with its diminutive size and tantalizing action.
The package arrived, and I was immediately struck by the softness of the ElaZtech material. It was incredibly pliable and had a distinct buoyancy. The tentacles looked like they would undulate enticingly in the water.
I’ve used similar panfish baits from Strike King and Berkley, but neither offered the same combination of durability and action. The ElaZtech material is renowned for its resistance to tearing, a significant advantage when dealing with panfish that tend to nip at the tail. I’m definitely excited by the promised longevity.
My first impression was one of excitement. These Tiny Ticklerz felt like they had the potential to be a game-changer for my panfishing adventures. I couldn’t wait to get them on the water.
Real-World Testing: Putting Z-man Tiny Ticklerz Soft Bait to the Test
First Use Experience
My first outing with the Z-man Tiny Ticklerz Soft Bait was on a local reservoir known for its crappie and bluegill populations. I rigged a Firetreuse-colored TicklerZ on a 1/32 oz. Micro Finesse ShroomZ jighead. The combination looked perfect.
The water was slightly stained, and a light breeze rippled across the surface. I targeted submerged brush piles and weed lines. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the Tiny Ticklerz held up to repeated casts and retrieves.
The action was impressive. The tentacles quivered with the slightest movement, even on the fall. After a few casts, I landed a feisty bluegill, followed by several more. The Tiny Ticklerz definitely piqued their interest.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of consistent use, the Z-man Tiny Ticklerz Soft Bait has proven to be remarkably durable. I’ve fished them in various conditions, from clear, calm waters to murky, wind-swept lakes. They still hold up remarkably well.
I’ve noticed minimal wear and tear, even after catching numerous fish. The ElaZtech material is truly impressive. I’ve even accidentally stepped on a few. They popped right back into shape!
Maintenance is incredibly simple. I usually just rinse them off with water and store them back in the original package. Compared to other soft plastics that require special storage to prevent melting, the Tiny Ticklerz are a breeze to maintain. They have definitely outperformed any other panfish bait I’ve used in terms of longevity and durability.

The Z-man Tiny Ticklerz Soft Bait excels in its primary function: attracting and catching panfish and trout. The soft, buoyant tentacles create an irresistible action that entices fish to strike. The durability of the ElaZtech material allows for multiple catches per bait, making them a cost-effective choice.
One minor drawback is that the ElaZtech material can be slightly more challenging to rig than traditional soft plastics. It requires a bit more force to thread onto the hook.
