Z-man EZ SHRIMPZ UNRIGGED3.5″GLOW/CHART TAIL4PK EZSU-70PK4 Review

Let’s Talk About Z-man EZ SHRIMPZ UNRIGGED3.5″GLOW/CHART TAIL4PK EZSU-70PK4

The Z-man EZ SHRIMPZ UNRIGGED3.5″GLOW/CHART TAIL4PK EZSU-70PK4 is more than just a bait; it’s a meticulously crafted shrimp imitation designed to entice even the most finicky fish. Crafted by Z-Man, a company renowned for its innovative and durable fishing lures, this unrigged shrimp offers anglers versatility and realism in their presentation. Its key features include a segmented body, lifelike appendages, and buoyant ElaZtech construction in an eye-catching Glow Chartreuse Tail color combination.

For years, I struggled to find a shrimp imitation that truly replicated the natural movement and profile of live shrimp. Many lures were either too stiff, lacked realistic detail, or simply didn’t hold up to repeated use in harsh saltwater environments. The Z-man EZ SHRIMPZ promised a solution: durability, realistic action, and the ability to customize rigging options.

The package arrived and I was immediately impressed by the texture and lifelike appearance of the EZ SHRIMPZ. The ElaZtech material felt incredibly soft and flexible, promising realistic movement in the water. The Glow Chartreuse Tail was vibrant and attention-grabbing, perfect for murky or low-light conditions.

Compared to other shrimp imitations like the DOA Shrimp or the LiveTarget Shrimp, the EZ SHRIMPZ stood out for its durability and customizable rigging options. The DOA is fantastic but can tear easily, while the LiveTarget offers great detail but lacks the Z-Man’s enticing action. My initial excitement stemmed from the prospect of a durable, realistic, and versatile shrimp bait.

Real-World Testing: Putting Z-man EZ SHRIMPZ UNRIGGED3.5″GLOW/CHART TAIL4PK EZSU-70PK4 to the Test

First Use Experience

My first test of the Z-man EZ SHRIMPZ was on a shallow grass flat in Tampa Bay, targeting redfish and spotted seatrout. I rigged it on a 1/8 oz Trout Eye jighead and began casting along the edges of the grass. The water was slightly murky, ideal for the Glow Chartreuse Tail to shine.

The EZ SHRIMPZ performed admirably, exhibiting a realistic swimming action with even the slightest twitch of the rod tip. The segmented body provided a natural wiggle, and the buoyant ElaZtech material allowed the bait to stand up off the bottom, mimicking a feeding shrimp. Within the first hour, I landed two slot-sized redfish and several seatrout.

The only initial issue was the ElaZtech’s tendency to cling to itself when threading it onto the jighead. However, a little lubricant solved the problem quickly.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of regular use, the Z-man EZ SHRIMPZ has proven to be remarkably durable. The ElaZtech material resists tearing and holds up exceptionally well to repeated strikes and aggressive fish. I’ve caught dozens of fish on a single bait, a testament to its toughness.

There are minimal signs of wear and tear, even after prolonged exposure to saltwater and sunlight. The Glow Chartreuse Tail remains vibrant, and the bait continues to swim naturally. Cleaning is easy; simply rinse with fresh water and allow to air dry.

Compared to other shrimp imitations I’ve used, the Z-man EZ SHRIMPZ significantly outperforms them in terms of durability and longevity. It’s a game-changer for anglers who want a reliable and cost-effective bait.

• Color: Glow Chartreuse Tail. This color combination provides excellent visibility in low-light or stained water conditions.
• Quantity: 4 per pack. While seemingly small, the durability of the bait makes this a great value.
• Unrigged. This feature allows anglers to customize the bait presentation based on water conditions and target species.
• ElaZtech Construction. This material is incredibly durable, buoyant, and provides lifelike action.

These specifications are crucial for performance because they directly impact the bait’s visibility, action, and durability. The size and color attract fish, the ElaZtech creates a realistic presentation, and the unrigged design allows for versatile rigging options.

Performance & Functionality

The Z-man EZ SHRIMPZ excels in replicating the natural movement and appearance of live shrimp. The segmented body and thin appendages create a lifelike quivering action that is irresistible to fish. Its buoyancy allows it to stand up off the bottom, mimicking a feeding shrimp.

The main strength is its durability; it lasts significantly longer than other soft plastic baits. A slight weakness is the potential for the ElaZtech to cling to itself when rigging, but this is easily remedied with a lubricant. It definitely exceeds my expectations.

Design & Ergonomics

The Z-man EZ SHRIMPZ features a realistic shrimp profile with a segmented body and subtle appendages. The ElaZtech material is soft and flexible, providing a natural feel to the bait. The weight is negligible, ensuring it doesn’t affect the action of the lure.

The bait is incredibly user-friendly; no special tools or techniques are required. Simply rig it on your preferred hook or jighead and start fishing.

Durability & Maintenance

The ElaZtech construction ensures exceptional durability. With proper care, a single EZ SHRIMPZ can last through multiple fishing trips. Maintenance is minimal, requiring only a quick rinse with fresh water after use.

The Z-man EZ SHRIMPZ is designed to be rigged in a variety of ways. Popular options include:
