Let’s Talk About XOP Treestand Transport System
The XOP Treestand Transport System promises to make hauling even the most cumbersome treestand a more comfortable and less strenuous experience. Marketed as a universal fit, the XOP Treestand Transport System, designed by the Manufacturer XOP, boasts padded shoulder straps and a hip belt for optimal weight distribution. For years, I’ve struggled with various makeshift carrying solutions that often resulted in sore shoulders and a generally unpleasant hike into my hunting spots.
My desire for a dedicated, comfortable treestand carrying system stemmed from a need to preserve energy for the hunt itself, not expend it all getting there. I needed something that could handle the weight of my stand efficiently and comfortably, allowing me to navigate uneven terrain without feeling like I was battling the stand every step of the way. Upon unboxing, I was immediately impressed by the apparent robust construction of the XOP Treestand Transport System. The materials felt durable, and the padding seemed ample, a stark contrast to some of the thinner, less substantial straps I’ve encountered.
Compared to using simple backpack straps or a shoulder sling, the XOP Treestand Transport System seemed a significant upgrade. I considered a few other universal treestand carrying systems from brands like Muddy and Hawk, but the XOP seemed to strike a better balance between price and perceived quality. My first impression was definitely positive; I was eager to see if it lived up to the promise of comfort and ease of use in the field.
Real-World Testing: Putting XOP Treestand Transport System to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the XOP Treestand Transport System on a scouting trip in the rugged hills of southern Ohio, prepping for the upcoming deer season. The terrain was a mix of steep inclines, dense underbrush, and creek crossings, providing a solid test of its capabilities. Conditions were damp and muddy following a recent rain, which added to the challenge of navigating with a treestand on my back.
The XOP Treestand Transport System performed surprisingly well under these conditions. The padded shoulder straps and hip belt effectively distributed the weight of the stand, preventing it from digging into my shoulders. It also allowed me to maintain better balance on the uneven terrain, which was a huge improvement over previous methods. The quick connect system made attaching the stand straightforward, although I did need to make a few adjustments to ensure a secure fit.
My initial use of the system revealed no immediate issues, though I noticed the straps could benefit from a bit more adjustability to fine-tune the fit. The XOP Treestand Transport System exceeded my expectations, providing a much more comfortable and controlled experience than I anticipated.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of use, including multiple hunts and scouting trips, the XOP Treestand Transport System has proven to be a reliable and durable piece of gear. While the straps show some minor signs of wear, such as slight fraying at the edges, the overall construction remains solid. The padding has maintained its shape and cushioning, providing consistent comfort even on longer treks.
Cleaning the XOP Treestand Transport System is relatively easy. A simple wipe-down with a damp cloth removes mud and dirt effectively. Compared to the discomfort and instability of carrying my stand with improvised straps, the XOP system has been a game-changer, allowing me to focus on the hunt rather than the burden of carrying my equipment.
