WOW Watersports 18-1000 Thriller Series Towables Thriller 1 Person Review

Let’s Talk About WOW Watersports 18-1000 Thriller Series Towables Thriller 1 Person

Summer is synonymous with water, sun, and thrilling adventures, and few experiences rival the pure adrenaline rush of being towed behind a boat, carving through the waves. As an outdoor gear specialist, I’ve seen countless towables come and go, but the WOW Watersports 18-1000 Thriller Series Towables Thriller 1 Person immediately caught my eye with its promise of a “THRILLING” ride. The WOW Watersports Thriller pledges classic deck tube excitement, focusing on big air and versatility for both high-speed action and relaxed floating.

I was searching for a single-rider towable that could deliver the excitement of wake jumping while remaining durable and easy to use. So many towables focus solely on speed or comfort, often sacrificing one for the other, leaving me wanting more.

The moment I pulled the WOW Watersports Thriller out of its packaging, I was impressed by the quality of the materials. The heavy-gauge PVC bladder felt robust, and the full nylon cover with a zipper looked like it could withstand some serious abuse. Compared to cheaper towables I’ve used in the past, which often feel flimsy and prone to punctures, the WOW Watersports Thriller felt solid and well-constructed. I chose it over other similar offerings, like the Airhead Mach 1 or the Sportsstuff Poparazzi, because of its more traditional deck tube design, which I believe offers a better balance of stability and air time.

My first impression was definitely excitement! I was eager to see if it could live up to its “Thriller” name and deliver the wild wake action it promised.

Real-World Testing: Putting WOW Watersports 18-1000 Thriller Series Towables Thriller 1 Person to the Test

First Use Experience

I tested the WOW Watersports Thriller on a local lake known for its choppy conditions and enthusiastic boaters. The water was a brisk 70 degrees Fahrenheit, and the wind created some decent-sized swells, perfect for putting this towable through its paces. Inflation was quick and easy thanks to the speed valve, getting me on the water in minutes.

The WOW Watersports Thriller performed admirably in the choppy conditions. The tapered design helped prevent nose-diving into the waves, and the double webbing foam handles provided a secure and comfortable grip even when being thrown around. The learning curve was minimal; within minutes, I was confidently launching off wakes and feeling the thrill of the ride. My only minor issue was that the EVA foam pad could be slightly thicker for enhanced comfort during extended use.

Extended Use & Reliability

After a full summer season of regular use, the WOW Watersports Thriller has held up remarkably well. The Tuff shell nylon cover shows no signs of tearing or fading, and the PVC bladder remains airtight. I’ve dragged it across sandy beaches, bumped it against docks, and subjected it to countless high-speed runs, and it still looks almost new.

Maintaining the WOW Watersports Thriller is a breeze; a quick rinse with fresh water after each use is all it takes to keep it clean. Compared to some previous towables I’ve owned, which quickly succumbed to wear and tear, the WOW Watersports Thriller has proven to be exceptionally durable and reliable. It definitely outperforms cheaper alternatives in terms of longevity and build quality.
