Wildgame Innovations Hog Heaven Review

First Impressions of Wildgame Innovations Hog Heaven

Feral hogs: a landowner’s nightmare, a farmer’s frustration, and a hunter’s exciting challenge. Wildgame Innovations Hog Heaven promises a solution to the ever-growing problem of unruly hog populations. This attractant, with its super-sweet fruit punch additive, aims to draw hogs in from miles, offering a concentrated point for hunting, trapping, or simply managing these destructive creatures.

My own property has been plagued by hogs for years, costing me countless hours in repairs and lost crops. I was looking for a reliable, easy-to-use attractant that would actually work, something beyond just scattering corn and hoping for the best. Wildgame Innovations Hog Heaven seemed like a potentially effective tool in my battle against these persistent pests.

Upon receiving the 5-pound bag, the first thing I noticed was the strong, sweet aroma – definitely reminiscent of fruit punch. The granular mix appeared well-blended and ready to deploy. Compared to straight corn or other single-ingredient attractants, the pre-mixed, proprietary blend felt like a step up in terms of potential effectiveness.

I considered using other hog attractants like liquid molasses or even trying to make my own concoction. However, the convenience and promise of a ready-to-use, powerfully scented product ultimately led me to choose Wildgame Innovations Hog Heaven. My initial impression was cautiously optimistic; I was eager to see if the hype matched the reality.

Real-World Testing: Putting Wildgame Innovations Hog Heaven to the Test

First Use Experience

I tested Wildgame Innovations Hog Heaven on my property in central Texas, focusing on an area known for hog activity near a creek bed. I deployed about half the bag, spreading it in a 10-foot diameter circle near a heavily used game trail. The weather was warm and humid, typical for the area, with a slight breeze that carried the scent effectively.

The ease of use was a definite plus; simply pouring the granules onto the ground was quick and effortless. Initially, there was no immediate hog activity, which was expected. However, I set up a trail camera to monitor the site and see what unfolded over the next few days.

Within 24 hours, the trail camera showed signs of hog interest. A sounder (group of hogs) approached the site, cautiously sniffing the area before actively consuming the Hog Heaven granules. This was encouraging, indicating that the attractant was indeed drawing them in.

Extended Use & Reliability

Over the following weeks, I continued to replenish the Wildgame Innovations Hog Heaven site as needed, monitoring the trail camera footage. The hogs consistently returned to the site, often multiple times a day, establishing a predictable pattern of activity. The product proved to be reliable in attracting hogs consistently.

The durability of the attractant itself is a non-issue, as it is consumed by the hogs. However, I did notice that after heavy rain, the scent seemed to diminish somewhat, requiring more frequent replenishment. Maintenance was minimal, simply involving checking the site and adding more Hog Heaven when necessary.

Compared to my previous attempts using plain corn, Wildgame Innovations Hog Heaven significantly outperformed in attracting hogs. The consistent activity at the site made it easier to pattern their movements and plan hunting or trapping strategies. It proved to be a more effective and reliable attractant.
