The Wildgame Innovations Evolution 6v Digital Game Feeder Kit Made a Bold First Impression
The Wildgame Innovations Evolution 6v Digital Game Feeder Kit promises a hassle-free way to attract and hold deer on your property. Wildgame Innovations aims to provide hunters with a reliable and easy-to-use feeder kit. It’s a competitive market, but the “varmint-proof” design and digital timer caught my attention.
For years, I’ve struggled with inconsistent feeding schedules and crafty raccoons raiding my feeders. I needed a dependable system that could withstand the elements and prevent unwanted critters from depleting my feed supply. I was looking for something that was easy to program and robust enough to withstand the rigors of being in the woods.
Upon unboxing the Wildgame Innovations Evolution 6v Digital Game Feeder Kit, I was initially impressed by the all-metal housing. The powder-coated, galvanized steel felt solid and well-built. The components felt durable, which is important for something that will be exposed to the elements.
Compared to cheaper plastic feeders I’ve used in the past, the Wildgame Innovations kit felt significantly more robust. Other options, like some Moultrie feeders, have more advanced features but often come with a higher price tag. I ultimately chose this kit because of its balance of affordability and seemingly durable construction. My first impression was cautiously optimistic; it looks promising, but real-world performance will be the true test.
Real-World Testing: Putting Wildgame Innovations Evolution 6v Digital Game Feeder Kit to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Wildgame Innovations Evolution 6v Digital Game Feeder Kit on my hunting property in central Texas, known for its variable weather and persistent raccoon population. I mounted it to a metal barrel using the included hardware and filled it with corn. The programming was straightforward, and I set it to dispense feed twice a day.
During the first week, we had a mix of sun and rain. The feeder operated flawlessly, dispensing the set amount of corn at the programmed times. There was no sign of varmints attempting to access the feed. I was pleased with the ease of programming and the consistent operation.
Extended Use & Reliability
After three months of continuous use, the Wildgame Innovations Evolution 6v Digital Game Feeder Kit has proven to be a reliable addition to my deer management strategy. There are some minor scratches on the powder coating from branches, but no significant wear and tear. The varmint-proof design is truly effective; I haven’t seen a single raccoon manage to get any feed.
Cleaning is simple; a quick wipe-down with a damp cloth is usually sufficient. Compared to my previous experience with gravity feeders that constantly needed refilling due to varmints, this kit has been a significant improvement. It consistently outperforms those older systems by holding a steady feeding schedule and deterring pests.
