Let’s Dive into Victory RIP XV Gamer Arrows
The Victory RIP XV Gamer Arrows promise a blend of speed, accuracy, and penetration, aiming to be a top contender for serious archers. Victory Archery claims to have combined their Blazer-XV nock technology with their X-Chainless technology to create an arrow that flies true and hits hard. These arrows boast features like a sharpened leading edge for easier target removal and an ICE coating for enhanced stability and ease of extraction.
I was looking for an arrow that could provide flatter trajectories at longer distances without sacrificing downrange energy on bigger game. My current arrows were decent, but I felt like my groupings were opening up past 50 yards, and I wanted more confidence when ethical shot opportunities presented themselves at extended ranges. The Victory RIP XV Gamer Arrows seemed like a solution worth exploring.
Unboxing the arrows revealed a sleek design. The shafts felt lightweight yet surprisingly robust, with a smooth finish thanks to the ICE coating. The build quality appeared excellent at first glance, with no visible imperfections or inconsistencies in the fletching.
Compared to my previous arrows, the Easton Axis and Carbon Express Maxima Red, the Victory RIP XV Gamer Arrows immediately stood out due to their smaller diameter. I was hoping this would translate to less wind drift and a higher ballistic coefficient. I was also considering the Black Eagle Deep Impact, but the purported ease of target removal with the Victory RIP XV Gamer Arrows swayed my decision.
My first impression was definitely one of excitement. These arrows looked and felt like a premium product, and I was eager to see how they performed downrange. I hoped that Victory Archery‘s claims of superior speed and accuracy would hold true.
Real-World Testing: Putting Victory RIP XV Gamer Arrows to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing took place at my local archery range, which offers distances out to 80 yards. I shot the Victory RIP XV Gamer Arrows from my Mathews V3X 33, set at 70 pounds draw weight with a 29-inch draw length. The weather was mild, with a slight crosswind of about 5 mph.
The arrows flew noticeably faster than my previous setup. The trajectory was indeed flatter, and I immediately noticed tighter groupings at 50 and 60 yards. The Victory RIP XV Gamer Arrows seemed less affected by the crosswind compared to my older arrows, contributing to the increased accuracy.
Getting used to the lighter weight took a few shots, as my bow seemed to “jump” slightly more on release. I also needed to adjust my sight tape slightly to account for the increased speed. There were no apparent issues, and I was very pleased with the improved performance.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of consistent use, the Victory RIP XV Gamer Arrows have proven to be incredibly durable. I’ve shot them hundreds of times, both at the range and during practice stalks in the field. There are minimal signs of wear and tear.
The ICE coating has held up remarkably well, showing only minor scuffing from target impacts. The fletchings are still securely attached, with no signs of peeling or damage. Maintaining the arrows is simple. I wipe them down with a damp cloth after each shooting session and occasionally apply a small amount of silicone lubricant to the shafts.
Compared to my experience with other arrows, the Victory RIP XV Gamer Arrows definitely outperform them in terms of speed and accuracy. I am now consistently hitting tighter groups at longer distances, increasing my confidence for upcoming hunting seasons. The ease of target removal, thanks to the X-Chainless technology, is also a definite plus.
