Let’s Talk About Truglo Hip Shot Crossbow Shooting Rest 20″-29″ Adjtmnt
The Truglo Hip Shot Crossbow Shooting Rest 20″-29″ Adjtmnt offers hunters and tactical shooters a unique approach to stability in the field. Manufactured by TruGlo, this rest promises enhanced accuracy from various shooting positions.
I’ve spent years struggling with improvised rests in tree stands and ground blinds. A stable shooting platform is critical for ethical and accurate shots, and I was tired of using branches and backpacks.
Upon unboxing, the Truglo Hip Shot felt surprisingly lightweight and well-constructed. The combination of metal, plastic, and rubber seemed durable enough to withstand regular field use, and the folding design was immediately appealing.
I considered other bipods and shooting sticks, but the Hip Shot’s hands-free design was the deciding factor. Standard rests require constant adjustment and can be cumbersome in tight spaces, the Hip Shot promised greater freedom of movement.
My first impression was cautiously optimistic. The concept was intriguing, but I needed to see how it performed under real-world hunting conditions.
Real-World Testing: Putting Truglo Hip Shot Crossbow Shooting Rest 20″-29″ Adjtmnt to the Test
First Use Experience
I first tested the Truglo Hip Shot during a crossbow deer hunt from a tree stand. The initial setup was straightforward; adjusting the telescoping arm to my height was quick and easy.
The conditions were cold and damp, but the rubber grip on the vertical handle provided a secure hold. I was able to maintain a stable shooting position even while wearing bulky gloves.
One initial issue was adjusting to the movement of the rest as I shifted my weight. After a few practice shots, I became more comfortable with the system, and my groups tightened considerably.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of use in various hunting scenarios, the Truglo Hip Shot has proven to be a valuable asset. It has significantly improved my accuracy from both tree stands and ground blinds.
The rest shows minimal signs of wear and tear, with no noticeable degradation of the metal, plastic, or rubber components. I’ve found that a quick wipe-down with a damp cloth is sufficient for cleaning and maintenance.
Compared to previous experiences with improvised rests, the Truglo Hip Shot is a game-changer. It provides a level of stability and consistency that I simply couldn’t achieve with other methods.
