Trophy Treestands Aimer 360 Tree Stand Review

First Impressions of Trophy Treestands Aimer 360 Tree Stand

The Trophy Treestands Aimer 360 Tree Stand immediately piqued my interest with its promise of enhanced shooting opportunities from a single location. Built by Trophy Treestands, a manufacturer known for its commitment to quality and innovation in hunting gear, this stand aims to revolutionize the hunter’s experience with its rotating capability, padded shooting rail and flip up seat. It promises a full 360-degree field of view, something I’ve longed for in heavily wooded areas where deer can appear from any direction.

For years, I’ve struggled with the limited visibility of traditional fixed treestands. I needed a solution that would allow me to quickly and quietly adjust my aim as deer moved around me, increasing my chances of a successful hunt without spooking game. The promise of a 360-degree rotating seat was the key feature that drew me to the Trophy Treestands Aimer 360 Tree Stand.

Unboxing the Aimer 360, I was immediately struck by the robust construction of the ladder and platform. The steel felt solid and the welds appeared clean and strong. The Textilene seat material felt durable, yet comfortable, and the padded shooting rail inspired confidence.

Compared to my old fixed-position stand and a less expensive tripod stand, the Aimer 360 seemed a significant upgrade. My fixed stand offered a very limited view, and the tripod stand, while portable, lacked the stability and comfort needed for longer hunts. The Trophy Treestands Aimer 360 Tree Stand promised both comfort and a panoramic view, which sold me.

My initial impression was excitement mixed with cautious optimism. While the design looked promising, I was eager to see how it performed in the field. The Jaw Safety System looked especially promising.

Real-World Testing: Putting Trophy Treestands Aimer 360 Tree Stand to the Test

First Use Experience

My first test of the Trophy Treestands Aimer 360 Tree Stand was on a weekend deer hunt in the dense forests of Northern Wisconsin. The weather was typical for late October – damp, with temperatures hovering around 40 degrees Fahrenheit. I set up the stand along a well-worn deer trail, hoping to catch sight of a buck cruising for does.

The setup was straightforward, though definitely a two-person job. The ladder sections connected easily and the Jaw Safety System provided a confident feeling as it secured the stand to the tree. Once in place, the rotating seat allowed for incredibly easy adjustments. The seat was quiet in rotation; however, I found the padded shooting rail slightly squeaky upon initial use. Overall, the experience was positive.

After several hours in the stand, I can say it exceeded my expectations. The 360-degree rotation allowed me to spot a doe approaching from the north and a young buck attempting to circle me from the east. The Padded Shooting Rail offered a stable rest for my rifle, leading to a clean, ethical shot on the buck.

Extended Use & Reliability

After a full season of hunting with the Trophy Treestands Aimer 360 Tree Stand, I can attest to its durability and reliability. Despite exposure to rain, snow, and freezing temperatures, the stand shows no signs of rust or structural weakness. The Textilene seat material has held up well, showing minimal wear and tear, and the padding on the shooting rail remains comfortable.

Maintenance has been minimal. A quick wipe-down with a damp cloth after each hunt is all it takes to keep the stand clean and functioning smoothly. I did apply some silicone lubricant to the rotating mechanism to eliminate the initial squeak and it’s remained silent ever since.

Compared to my previous treestand experiences, the Aimer 360 is a game-changer. The 360-degree rotation and padded shooting rail greatly improved my shooting opportunities. The Trophy Treestands Aimer 360 Tree Stand outperforms my old stand in every aspect, from comfort and stability to visibility and overall hunting success.
