The Trijicon Credo HX CRHX624 1-6x24mm Rifle Scope, 30 – 1 out of 2 models aims to bridge the gap between close-quarters maneuverability and mid-range precision. Trijicon is renowned for rugged, reliable optics, and this scope boasts features designed for the discerning hunter. The illuminated reticle, combined with a versatile 1-6x magnification range, makes it adaptable to various hunting scenarios.
For years, I struggled with optics that felt either too bulky for quick target acquisition or lacked the magnification needed for longer shots. I needed a scope that could transition seamlessly from dense brush to open fields. The Trijicon Credo HX seemed like the perfect solution, promising both speed and accuracy in a single package.
My first impression upon unboxing was that this optic felt incredibly solid. The matte black finish looked durable, and the controls moved with a satisfyingly tactile click. The weight felt substantial, hinting at the robust construction Trijicon is known for, without feeling overly heavy or cumbersome.
I was also considering the Vortex Razor HD Gen II-E 1-6×24 and the Leupold VX-6HD 1-6×24. I ultimately chose the Trijicon Credo HX for its reputation for exceptional glass clarity and the specific reticle designed for .308 hunting. I was excited to see if it would live up to the hype.
I was immediately impressed by the clarity of the glass and the intuitive design of the illumination controls. It seemed like this optic might finally be the answer to my search for the ultimate hunting scope.
Real-World Testing: Putting Trijicon Credo HX CRHX624 1-6x24mm Rifle Scope, 30 – 1 out of 2 models to the Test
First Use Experience
My first real-world test of the Credo HX was at my deer lease in central Texas. The terrain ranges from thick, wooded areas to open fields, providing a perfect testing ground. I mounted it on my trusty AR-10 chambered in .308.
The weather during my initial testing was varied, with temperatures ranging from a chilly 40°F in the mornings to a balmy 75°F in the afternoons. I also encountered some light rain and dusty conditions. The Credo HX performed flawlessly in all conditions.
The ease of use was immediately apparent. The magnification ring turned smoothly, and the illuminated reticle was easy to adjust. No time was needed to get used to the scope; it felt instantly intuitive.
The only initial surprise was how bright the illuminated reticle was at its highest setting. I quickly learned to dial it down for optimal performance in low-light conditions.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Trijicon Credo HX has proven to be an incredibly reliable optic. It has held zero perfectly, even after some rough handling in the field. I’ve put roughly 300 rounds down range since mounting the optic.
There are no signs of wear and tear beyond some minor scuffs on the finish. The scope still looks and performs like new. The construction appears to be incredibly robust.
Maintaining the Credo HX has been simple. A quick wipe down with a lens cloth after each use is all it takes to keep the glass clean. The rugged construction means I don’t have to baby it.
Compared to my previous hunting scopes, the Credo HX outperforms them in every way. The combination of clarity, versatility, and durability is unmatched. This optic has truly exceeded my expectations.
