Designed by Trijicon, a company renowned for its rugged and reliable optics, this scope promises the legendary durability and clarity the brand is known for, in a compact and adaptable package. Featuring true 1x magnification and an illuminated BDC reticle, the Credo CR424 aims to excel in fast-paced scenarios while still providing enough magnification for accurate shots at longer distances.
My search for a new optic began with the realization that my existing setup was lacking versatility. I needed something that could handle both close-quarters drills and medium-range engagements effectively. The Trijicon Credo CR424 1-4x24mm LPVO Rifle Scope appeared to offer the perfect balance.
Upon unboxing, the first thing I noticed was the robust build quality. The scope felt solid and well-made, instilling confidence in its ability to withstand harsh conditions. Its sleek finish and low-profile controls suggest a design focused on practicality and preventing snagging, an important consideration for tactical applications.
I also considered the Vortex Viper PST Gen II 1-6x and the Leupold VX-Freedom AR 1.5-4x. The Trijicon edged out the Vortex with its reputation for superior glass clarity and the Leupold with its enhanced durability and illumination system. I chose the Trijicon Credo CR424 1-4x24mm LPVO Rifle Scope expecting bomb-proof reliability and excellent performance in varying conditions.

Real-World Testing: Putting Trijicon Credo CR424 1-4x24mm LPVO Rifle Scope, 30 – 1 out of 8 models to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Trijicon Credo CR424 1-4x24mm LPVO Rifle Scope primarily at my local shooting range, engaging targets from 25 to 300 yards. I also subjected it to a simulated field environment, practicing transitions and movement drills in a controlled setting. The weather conditions were initially clear, but later transitioned to light rain.
The scope performed admirably in both environments. The true 1x magnification made close-quarters engagements intuitive and fast, while the 4x magnification provided enough clarity for accurate shots at longer ranges. The illuminated reticle proved invaluable during the rainy conditions, providing a clear aiming point against the darkening backdrop.
The scope required minimal adjustment right out of the box, and the turrets were easy to manipulate, even with gloved hands. I did, however, find the magnification adjustment ring to be a bit stiff initially, requiring a bit more force than I preferred.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Trijicon Credo CR424 1-4x24mm LPVO Rifle Scope has proven to be a reliable and durable optic. There are no significant signs of wear and tear, even after being exposed to various weather conditions and the occasional bump during training. The finish has held up well, and the glass remains clear and scratch-free.
Maintenance has been straightforward; I simply wipe down the scope with a clean cloth after each use. I’ve also occasionally used a lens cleaning solution to remove any stubborn smudges.
This Trijicon greatly outperforms the cheaper optics I have previously used. Its superior glass clarity, robust construction, and reliable illumination make it a worthwhile investment for anyone serious about their shooting.
