The Trijicon Bright & Tough Suppressor Night for Glock Tritium Handgun Sight Made a Bold First Impression
The Trijicon Bright & Tough Suppressor Night for Glock Tritium Handgun Sight promises enhanced visibility in low-light conditions, a crucial upgrade for any Glock owner who values reliable target acquisition in all environments. Trijicon is a well-respected name in the firearms industry, so I had high expectations for these sights. My journey to these sights stemmed from a frustrating night training exercise where my standard Glock sights disappeared against a dark backdrop.
I was tired of struggling to acquire a sight picture when ambient light was low. I needed a solution that would provide a clear, bright aiming point without relying on batteries or external light sources. Initially, I considered fiber optic sights, but their reliance on ambient light concerned me. Ultimately, the self-illuminating tritium technology of the Trijicon sights swayed me towards this product.
Unboxing the Trijicon Bright & Tough Suppressor Night for Glock Tritium Handgun Sight kit was a straightforward affair. The sights themselves appeared robust and well-machined. The tritium lamps glowed faintly even in a well-lit room, hinting at their potential in darkness.
I’d previously used standard Glock polymer sights and had also experimented with aftermarket steel sights from another brand. Compared to those, the Trijicon sights felt significantly more substantial and professional. I chose the Trijicon over competing brands like Meprolight primarily because of Trijicon’s reputation for longevity and brightness.
My first impression was one of cautious optimism. I was excited to test the sights in a low-light environment. While the price point felt a bit steep initially at $128.49, I hoped the performance would justify the investment.
Real-World Testing: Putting Trijicon Bright & Tough Suppressor Night for Glock Tritium Handgun Sight to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Trijicon Bright & Tough Suppressor Night for Glock Tritium Handgun Sight at an indoor shooting range with controlled lighting and an outdoor range during twilight hours. The indoor range provided an ideal environment to assess the brightness and clarity of the tritium lamps. The outdoor setting allowed me to evaluate the sights’ performance as natural light diminished. The sights performed admirably in both scenarios.
In low-light conditions, the Trijicon sights provided a clear and easily acquired sight picture. The white-painted rings around the tritium lamps helped to focus my eye, making target acquisition faster and more intuitive. I didn’t encounter any issues with glare or washout, even when shooting towards brighter light sources.
Installation was straightforward, though I did use a sight pusher tool to avoid damaging the slide or sights. The sights aligned easily and required minimal adjustment. The height of the suppressor sights did take some adjustment, but it was a small price to pay for their clear target acquisition ability.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Trijicon Bright & Tough Suppressor Night for Glock Tritium Handgun Sight have held up remarkably well. There are no visible signs of wear or tear on the sight bodies. The tritium lamps continue to glow brightly, maintaining their initial level of illumination.
The finish has proven to be durable, resisting scratches and scuffs from holster wear and handling. I clean the sights regularly with a mild solvent and a soft cloth. The sights are easy to maintain.
Compared to my previous experiences with standard Glock sights, the Trijicon sights offer a significant improvement in low-light visibility and overall accuracy. They have boosted my confidence in my ability to accurately engage targets in a variety of lighting conditions. The increased sight height allows a suppressor to be used without obstructing the sight picture.
