Let’s Dive into Trijicon Bright & Tough Remington Slug Gun Front Night Sight RE02
The Trijicon Bright & Tough Remington Slug Gun Front Night Sight RE02 is a vital upgrade for any shotgun owner looking to enhance their low-light shooting capabilities. Specifically designed for Remington slug guns, this front night sight offers a significant improvement in target acquisition when visibility is limited.
My aging eyes needed help acquiring targets in low-light conditions while deer hunting in thick brush. I needed a reliable and durable front sight that would provide a clear and bright aiming point when legal shooting light was fading.
The Trijicon sight arrived in a simple, no-frills package. My initial impression was that it was a robust and well-made piece of equipment, immediately inspiring confidence. The tritium lamp glowed faintly, even in daylight, promising excellent visibility in darker environments.
I considered other fiber optic sights but ultimately chose the Trijicon for its reputation for durability and tritium illumination. Fiber optics are great in bright light, but tritium shines when the sun goes down. Cheaper tritium options existed, but I valued the Trijicon name and their 12-year warranty on the lamp.
My first impression was one of quiet excitement. This sight seemed like a perfect solution to my low-light hunting challenges and knowing the Trijicon name, it felt like money well spent.
Real-World Testing: Putting Trijicon Bright & Tough Remington Slug Gun Front Night Sight RE02 to the Test
First Use Experience
I installed the Trijicon Bright & Tough Remington Slug Gun Front Night Sight RE02 on my Remington 1100 slug gun and tested it at an indoor shooting range, as well as during dusk hunts. The range provided a controlled environment to assess the sight’s accuracy and brightness, while the hunts simulated real-world low-light scenarios.
The sight performed exceptionally well in low-light conditions, offering a clear and easily visible aiming point when the standard bead sight would have been virtually invisible. Even in wet conditions, the sight maintained its clarity and brightness.
Installation was a little snug, but I found the sight was easy to use and provided immediate improvement in target acquisition. I did not need any time to adjust to the new sight picture as it was a simple bead replacement.
My first time using it showed how much of an improvement this was over the factory bead. There were no issues, and it worked great.
Extended Use & Reliability
After a full deer season and numerous range trips, the Trijicon Bright & Tough Remington Slug Gun Front Night Sight RE02 has proven to be incredibly reliable. The tritium lamp has maintained its brightness, and the sight shows no signs of wear and tear.
The steel construction of the sight has held up well to recoil and handling, with no loosening or damage to the lamp housing. Cleaning is also easy, simply wiping the sight with a clean cloth.
The Trijicon sight has far exceeded my expectations compared to previous attempts with stick-on fiber optic beads that fell off after a few shots. The durability and consistent performance of the Trijicon have been impressive.
