The Top Mount Base TC Encore, Omega, Impact, 410 Black, Poly Bag Made a Bold First Impression
As an outdoor and tactical gear specialist with over a decade of experience, I’ve mounted countless optics on a vast array of firearms. This time, I needed a reliable and affordable base for mounting a new scope on my trusted Thompson Center Encore, and the Top Mount Base TC Encore, Omega, Impact, 410 Black, Poly Bag immediately caught my eye. It promised a custom fit, maximum strength, and cross-lock design, all at a very reasonable price, so I was eager to see if it could deliver.
My old Weaver base had finally given way after years of hard use in the field. Constant recoil and exposure to harsh weather had taken their toll. I needed a replacement that was both durable and precise, without breaking the bank.
Upon unboxing, I was pleasantly surprised by the solid feel of the aluminum. The black finish was clean and consistent. It looked and felt like a quality piece, despite its simple poly bag packaging.
I considered a few other options, including a pricier steel base from Leupold and a lightweight aluminum base from EGW. However, the Top Mount Base TC Encore, Omega, Impact, 410 Black, Poly Bag seemed to offer the best balance of strength, affordability, and compatibility with my T/C Encore platform. The Weaver name is also one I trust.
My first impression was cautiously optimistic. The base felt solid and well-made, but the real test would be how it performed under real-world conditions. I was excited to mount it and head to the range.
