Let’s Talk About Tigress Ultimate Rigging Kit
The Tigress Ultimate Rigging Kit promises a complete solution for double rigging outriggers up to 22 feet, aiming to enhance your trolling spread and increase your chances of hooking up. Designed by Tigress, a reputable name in marine hardware, this kit comes in black nylon and aims to provide anglers with everything needed for a professional-grade outrigger setup.
My journey to this kit began with the desire to maximize my trolling spread. As a seasoned offshore angler, I’ve long recognized the advantages of running multiple lines without tangling, something traditional single-rigged outriggers sometimes struggle to achieve effectively.
Upon unboxing, the immediate impression was of robust construction; the nylon components felt durable, hinting at a product built to withstand the harsh marine environment. The kit looked complete, with everything neatly packaged, promising a straightforward installation.
Compared to piecing together a rigging setup from individual components – which I’ve done in the past with mixed results – the Tigress Ultimate Rigging Kit presented a streamlined, all-in-one solution. Alternatives like the AFTCO Pro Rigging Kit are available, but I chose the Tigress kit based on its reputation for quality hardware and the appeal of a complete, ready-to-install package.
My initial reaction was one of cautious optimism; while the components appeared well-made, the true test would lie in its performance on the water. Could it deliver the promised tangle-free, multi-line trolling spread I was hoping for?
Real-World Testing: Putting Tigress Ultimate Rigging Kit to the Test
First Use Experience
My first opportunity to test the Tigress Ultimate Rigging Kit came during a tuna fishing trip off the coast of North Carolina. The conditions were typical for the Outer Banks – moderate winds, choppy seas, and the ever-present threat of a passing squall.
The Tigress Ultimate Rigging Kit performed admirably, allowing me to effectively run a wider spread of lures without the frustrating tangles that can plague a less organized setup. The ease with which I could deploy and retrieve lines was a significant improvement over my previous setup.
There was a slight learning curve in fine-tuning the tension on the release clips for different lure weights, but after a few adjustments, the system worked flawlessly. One pleasant surprise was how well the black nylon blended into the overall aesthetic of my boat’s outriggers.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the Tigress Ultimate Rigging Kit has proven to be a reliable addition to my fishing arsenal. The nylon components have shown no signs of degradation, even after constant exposure to saltwater, sun, and the occasional splash of diesel fuel.
Durability has been excellent; the clips still function smoothly, and the lines haven’t frayed or weakened. Periodic rinsing with freshwater is all that’s needed to keep the system in top condition.
Compared to the previous hodgepodge of lines and clips I was using, the Tigress Ultimate Rigging Kit offers a noticeable improvement in both performance and peace of mind. The confidence of knowing my outrigger system is robust and reliable has translated to more time spent focusing on fishing, and less time wrestling with tangled lines.
