Tethrd Versa Links Review

First Impressions of Tethrd Versa Links

The Tethrd Versa Links have arrived, promising a lighter and more versatile method for securing my hunting platform to the tree. Manufactured by Tethrd, these links are designed to replace traditional cam buckles and daisy chains, offering a strong, non-stretch connection. I am eager to see if they live up to the hype and improve my setup speed and overall hunting experience.

My current climbing stick attachment method involves using cam buckle straps. While reliable, they can be bulky, add unnecessary weight, and tend to stretch slightly under load. The promise of Tethrd Versa Links, made from DynaLite UHMPE, eliminating stretch and reducing weight is incredibly appealing.

Upon unboxing, the first thing I noticed was the Tethrd Versa Links‘ lightweight feel. They are significantly lighter than the cam buckle straps I currently use, and the DynaLite material feels incredibly strong. The gray color is understated and blends well with the tree bark, an important factor for concealment.

I have previously used daisy chains and cam buckle straps from brands like Muddy and Hawk. The Tethrd Versa Links stand out due to their dedicated link spacing and the no-stretch properties of the DynaLite material, seemingly offering a more secure and streamlined connection. The promise of these features being tailored towards larger buttons like the ones I use is what made me choose these.

My initial impression is positive. I am excited about the potential weight savings and the promise of a more secure and stable hunting platform setup. I am hoping that the Tethrd Versa Links will ultimately increase my confidence and efficiency in the field.

Real-World Testing: Putting Tethrd Versa Links to the Test

First Use Experience

My first field test of the Tethrd Versa Links occurred during a scouting trip in the pre-season woods of northern Wisconsin. I used them to attach my Tethrd Predator Platform to a mature oak tree. The initial setup was surprisingly easy.

The Versa Links worked perfectly with the AlumiButtons on my climbing sticks. The 2.5″ link spacing was ideal. Even in slightly damp conditions, the Versa Links maintained a solid grip, showing no slippage on the tree.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several weeks of using the Tethrd Versa Links for both scouting and hunting, I’m impressed with their performance. They have consistently provided a secure and stable attachment point for my platform, and the DynaLite material shows no signs of stretching or wear. The lightweight design has also noticeably reduced the overall weight of my gear.

The Versa Links have held up exceptionally well, even after repeated use in rough terrain and varying weather conditions. I have not noticed any fraying or damage to the DynaLite cordage. Cleaning is also incredibly simple; I just wipe them down with a damp cloth after each use.

In comparison to my previous experience with cam buckle straps, the Tethrd Versa Links offer a significant improvement in terms of weight, security, and ease of use. They eliminate the slight bounce that I sometimes experienced with cam buckles, resulting in a more stable and confident hunting experience. These greatly improved my hunting experience overall.
