First Use Experience
My initial testing took place at a controlled shooting range and during practice sessions in my backyard. I wanted to assess its performance in a stress-free environment before taking it into the field.
The string performed exceptionally well under various simulated hunting conditions. This included dry firing (which is generally not recommended but done carefully for testing purposes) and repeated use in both warm and slightly damp conditions.
Installing the string was surprisingly easy. No special tools were required, and the fit was perfect. After some minor adjustments to the crossbow’s scope to compensate for the new string, it was ready for use.
There were no immediate issues after the first use. The string held its tension well, and the serving showed no signs of separation. This initial success instilled confidence in its potential.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of rigorous testing, the TenPoint Replacement String Nitro 505 continues to impress. It has withstood hundreds of shots and still maintains a like-new condition.
The string’s durability is remarkable. There’s been minimal stretching, and the serving remains intact, even after repeated exposure to harsh weather. This is a testament to the quality of materials used by TenPoint.
Maintenance is straightforward. A simple application of string wax after each use keeps it in top condition. The string is easy to clean, requiring only a quick wipe with a clean cloth to remove any dirt or debris.
