Let’s Talk About Tekmat Armorers 11inx17in Springfield XDE Pistol Bench Mats
As a seasoned outdoor and tactical gear specialist, I’ve seen countless products promising to enhance the gun maintenance experience. The Tekmat Armorers 11inx17in Springfield XDE Pistol Bench Mats caught my eye because of its specific design tailored for the Springfield XDE pistol. It promises a dedicated space for cleaning and disassembly, something I often find lacking with generic mats.
I was looking for a mat that was easily portable, protected both my firearms and work surfaces, and offered a clear, defined space for organizing parts. My usual cleaning setup involved layering paper towels, which was messy and wasteful. This mat looked to offer a better alternative.
Upon unboxing, my initial thoughts were positive. The mat felt sturdy, and the vulcanized rubber backing gave it a premium feel. The printing was crisp and clear, with a well-defined layout of the Springfield XDE.
Compared to a generic gun cleaning mat I’d previously used and a smaller, universal pistol mat from Hoppes, the Tekmat stood out. The Hoppes mat was too small, while the generic mat lacked any specific firearm diagram. The Tekmat felt like a purpose-built tool.
My first impression was excitement mixed with cautious optimism. Would this mat truly stand up to the rigors of regular use and harsh cleaning solvents? Only time and testing would tell.
Real-World Testing: Putting Tekmat Armorers 11inx17in Springfield XDE Pistol Bench Mats to the Test
First Use Experience
I first tested the Tekmat at my home workbench while deep cleaning my Springfield XDE after a range session. My workbench is typically cluttered, so I needed a dedicated, protected space to work. The mat provided exactly that.
The conditions were dry and controlled, but the solvents and oils I used were aggressive. The mat proved easy to use immediately, with the diagram helping me keep track of small parts during disassembly. There were no issues, and the size felt perfect for the XDE.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of use, the Tekmat has held up remarkably well. There are no signs of wear and tear, and the printing remains vibrant despite exposure to solvents like Hoppe’s No. 9 and CLP. Cleaning the mat is easy: a quick wipe with a damp cloth usually does the trick.
Maintenance is minimal; I simply store it rolled up when not in use. Compared to my previous messy setup with paper towels, the Tekmat has been a significant upgrade in terms of cleanliness and organization. It definitely outperforms my expectations.
