Let’s Dive into Taurus Licensed PT92 M9 Full Size CO2 Non Blowback Airsoft Pistol
The Taurus Licensed PT92 M9 Full Size CO2 Non Blowback Airsoft Pistol offers an affordable entry point into the world of airsoft replicas. Manufactured by Softair under license from Taurus, it aims to replicate the iconic PT92/Beretta M9 pistol in a non-blowback, CO2-powered format. Its combination of a railed frame, licensed trademarks, and decent FPS for the price point makes it an appealing option.
I was looking for a realistic-looking airsoft pistol for target practice in my backyard without breaking the bank. I wanted something that felt good in the hand, and offered a decent level of accuracy for casual shooting. The Taurus PT92 M9 seemed to fit the bill.
Upon unboxing, the first thing I noticed was the weight – it felt surprisingly solid for a polymer-framed airsoft pistol. The licensed Taurus trademarks added a touch of authenticity, and the railed frame opened up possibilities for mounting accessories.
I also considered the Umarex Beretta M92A1 and the Elite Force 1911 Tac. I chose the Taurus PT92 M9 because of its lower price point and readily available CO2 cartridges. While I knew a blowback action would be more realistic, I prioritized affordability and gas efficiency.
My initial impression was positive; it felt like a solid training tool or a fun backyard plinker. While it might not satisfy hardcore airsoft enthusiasts seeking ultra-realism, it seemed like a great option for casual use and skills development.
Real-World Testing: Putting Taurus Licensed PT92 M9 Full Size CO2 Non Blowback Airsoft Pistol to the Test
First Use Experience
My first test was in my backyard, setting up paper targets at around 25 feet. I wanted to get a feel for the accuracy and consistency of the Taurus Licensed PT92 M9 Full Size CO2 Non Blowback Airsoft Pistol. The weather was mild and dry, perfect for outdoor shooting.
The pistol performed reasonably well, delivering consistent shots within a roughly 4-inch grouping at the given distance. The trigger pull was a bit heavy compared to a real firearm, but it was manageable. I noticed the CO2 cartridge seemed to last a decent amount of time, which is a definite plus for a non-blowback system.
It took a few magazines to get accustomed to the fixed hop-up and trigger. There were no major issues in the first few magazines, though the heavy trigger pull will likely be an issue for accuracy over time.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of use, the Taurus Licensed PT92 M9 Full Size CO2 Non Blowback Airsoft Pistol has held up decently. The polymer frame has shown no signs of cracking or significant wear, despite regular handling. The finish on the slide has remained intact as well.
Cleaning and maintenance is simple, requiring just a quick wipe down after each use and occasional lubrication of the magazine valve. The magazine itself has held up well, and I haven’t experienced any feeding issues. I simply clean the barrel with a cotton swap every now and then.
Compared to a previous spring-powered airsoft pistol I owned, the Taurus PT92 M9 outperforms it in terms of both power and accuracy. While the realism of a blowback pistol is absent, the consistent performance and low running costs have made it a more satisfying experience overall.

Material: Polymer. The polymer build keeps the cost down.

Performance & Functionality
The Taurus Licensed PT92 M9 Full Size CO2 Non Blowback Airsoft Pistol performs adequately for its intended purpose. It offers consistent power and acceptable accuracy for casual target shooting.
Its strengths lie in its simplicity and ease of use. The trigger pull is heavy but consistent, and the magazine is easy to load. The fixed hop-up provides a relatively flat trajectory at moderate ranges. The high FPS is also a major draw.
However, the lack of blowback action detracts from the realism, and the fixed hop-up limits adjustability. The polymer construction, while durable, doesn’t offer the same feel as a full-metal pistol. The trigger pull requires practice.
Overall, the Taurus PT92 M9 meets expectations as an entry-level airsoft pistol. It may not satisfy experienced players, but it provides a fun and affordable option for casual users.
Design & Ergonomics

The user-friendliness is generally good. The safety is easy to engage and disengage, and the magazine release is conveniently located. However, the heavy trigger pull may require some getting used to. The Taurus Licensed PT92 M9 feels good.
Durability & Maintenance
The polymer construction of the Taurus Licensed PT92 M9 Full Size CO2 Non Blowback Airsoft Pistol is reasonably durable and should withstand regular use. The internal components are relatively simple, reducing the risk of major malfunctions.
With proper care, the Taurus PT92 M9 should last for a decent amount of time. Regular cleaning and lubrication will help to maintain its performance and prevent wear and tear.
Maintenance is relatively simple. The pistol can be easily disassembled for cleaning, and replacement parts are readily available if needed. The heavy duty polymer construction allows it to last longer.
Accessories and Customization Options
The Taurus Licensed PT92 M9 Full Size CO2 Non Blowback Airsoft Pistol comes with a single magazine and a user manual. The railed frame allows for the attachment of various accessories, such as lasers, flashlights, or vertical grips.
The pistol is compatible with standard airsoft accessories. You can easily find replacement magazines and CO2 cartridges.
However, customization options are limited. Due to its non-blowback design and polymer construction, upgrading internal components is not recommended. The Taurus PT92 M9 is better for use as-is.
