First Impressions of TangoDown Cover, Black, Fits Aimpoint ARCO TDAALG-02
The TangoDown Cover, Black, Fits Aimpoint ARCO TDAALG-02 is a seemingly simple, yet essential piece of kit for anyone running an Aimpoint Acro red dot sight. TangoDown is a reputable manufacturer known for its rugged and reliable firearm accessories, so my expectations were high from the start. It promises to protect your valuable optic from the elements and the inevitable bumps and scrapes of tactical or outdoor use.
I recently acquired an Aimpoint Acro P-2 for my dedicated patrol rifle, and was looking for a robust cover to protect my investment. The Acro, while incredibly durable, is still vulnerable to scratches and impacts. I was specifically looking for something that wouldn’t interfere with the optic’s functionality or add unnecessary bulk.
Upon receiving the TangoDown Cover, Black, Fits Aimpoint ARCO TDAALG-02, my first impression was one of solid, no-nonsense design. The material felt like a high-quality polymer, rigid enough to offer protection, yet with enough give to conform to the Acro’s shape. It was lightweight and didn’t seem like it would significantly alter the balance of the rifle.
Compared to other optic covers I’ve used, such as simple rubber slip-ons, the TangoDown cover seemed significantly more robust and purposeful. While some might opt for a lens pen and constant vigilance, I prefer the peace of mind that comes with a dedicated cover. The TangoDown Cover, Black, Fits Aimpoint ARCO TDAALG-02 struck me as a worthy upgrade, offering a more secure and reliable solution. I was excited to get it out to the range and see how it performed in real-world conditions.
Real-World Testing: Putting TangoDown Cover, Black, Fits Aimpoint ARCO TDAALG-02 to the Test
First Use Experience
My first experience with the TangoDown Cover, Black, Fits Aimpoint ARCO TDAALG-02 was at my local shooting range, during a carbine qualification course. The weather was typical for early spring – damp and a bit chilly, with a light drizzle threatening to turn into a full-blown downpour. I wanted to see how the cover performed in less-than-ideal conditions.
The cover installed easily onto my Aimpoint Acro P-2, providing a snug and secure fit. It stayed in place throughout the entire course, even during rapid firing drills and transitions between shooting positions. The drizzle beaded up nicely on the cover’s surface, keeping the optic dry and clear. There were no issues with accessing the brightness adjustments or the on/off switch.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of regular use, the TangoDown Cover, Black, Fits Aimpoint ARCO TDAALG-02 has held up remarkably well. It has been exposed to a variety of conditions, from dusty range days to humid summer hikes. The cover shows no signs of wear and tear. The polymer material is resistant to scratches and abrasions.

Compared to my previous experiences with other optic covers, the TangoDown product has far exceeded my expectations in terms of durability and reliability. It has become an indispensable part of my rifle setup, providing consistent protection and peace of mind.
