The Talon Grips Adhesive Grip For Glock 17/22/24/31/34/35/37 Gen4 Black Textured Granulate Made a Bold First Impression
Glock pistols, while known for their reliability and simplicity, aren’t exactly celebrated for their ergonomics. The blocky grip, while functional, can be a bit slippery, especially during intense range sessions or in less-than-ideal weather conditions. This is where the Talon Grips Adhesive Grip For Glock 17/22/24/31/34/35/37 Gen4 Black Textured Granulate enters the picture, promising enhanced control and a more secure hold on your Glock Gen4.
As someone with over a decade of experience in the outdoor and tactical gear industry, I’m always on the lookout for improvements that can be made to existing platforms. I was looking for a simple, non-permanent solution to improve the grip on my Glock 17 Gen4, especially during competitive shooting matches where a solid grip is paramount for fast and accurate follow-up shots. I needed something that would add texture without significantly increasing the grip size or altering the firearm’s overall profile.
Upon receiving the Talon Grips Adhesive Grip For Glock 17/22/24/31/34/35/37 Gen4 Black Textured Granulate, my initial impression was positive. The precut grip sections looked well-made, and the granulate texture felt aggressive, promising a significant improvement in grip. Compared to stippling, which is a permanent modification, or rubberized slip-on grips that can add bulk, the Talon Grips seemed like a perfect compromise.
I’d considered other grip tape options, but the custom-cut design of the Talon Grips appealed to me, promising a cleaner, more professional look than simply cutting and applying generic grip tape. I was excited to see how well the adhesive would hold up and whether the textured surface would truly enhance my grip without being overly abrasive. My first impression was definitely one of cautious optimism.

The installation process, following Talon Grips instructions and using a heat gun, was surprisingly straightforward. The grip conformed to the Glock’s frame perfectly, and the adhesive seemed to bond strongly.
At the range, the difference was immediately noticeable. The granulate texture provided an incredibly secure grip, even with sweaty hands and during rapid-fire drills. I found I was able to maintain a consistent grip throughout the entire match, resulting in faster target acquisition and improved accuracy. After several months of use, including numerous trips to the range and participation in several more competitive shooting events, the Talon Grips Adhesive Grip For Glock 17/22/24/31/34/35/37 Gen4 Black Textured Granulate has held up remarkably well. Compared to other grip solutions I’ve tried in the past, the Talon Grips offer the best combination of grip enhancement, durability, and ease of installation. The Talon Grips strike a perfect balance, providing a secure and comfortable grip without permanently altering the firearm.
