Real-World Testing: Putting Super Sling Original Padded Super-Sling w/ Talon Swivels, Coyote Brown to the Test
First Use Experience
My first test was during a three-day backcountry hunting trip in the Montana wilderness. I attached it to my trusty bolt-action rifle and immediately noticed the difference in weight distribution. The padded section conformed comfortably to my shoulder as I traversed varied terrain.
Despite encountering light rain and some dusty trails, the sling held up remarkably well. The webbing remained taut, and the Talon Swivels allowed for smooth transitions when maneuvering through dense brush. It was easy to adjust the length with one hand, even while wearing gloves.
I didn’t anticipate how much the integrated thumb loop would contribute to control. It gave me a secure grip while navigating steep inclines. No issues arose during that initial trip; the sling felt like a natural extension of my rifle.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of consistent use across various hunting seasons and range sessions, the Super Sling continues to impress. It’s accompanied me on countless hikes, shooting competitions, and even a few informal survival outings.
The sling shows minimal wear and tear. The padding retains its shape and hasn’t compressed over time. I’ve only needed to wipe it down with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris.
Compared to other slings I’ve owned, the Super Sling stands out for its consistent performance. It’s neither flashy nor over-engineered; instead, it delivers reliable comfort and functionality. It has become an indispensable piece of my gear.
