Let’s Talk About Strike King Tri-Wing Buzz King Chartreuse Soft Bait
The Strike King Tri-Wing Buzz King Chartreuse Soft Bait is more than just a lure; it’s a confidence booster in a tackle box. This little buzzbait, crafted by Strike King, promises to deliver enticing sound and flash, drawing strikes even when other surface baits fail. I was initially skeptical, as many “game-changing” lures have let me down, but the unique design and reputation of Strike King intrigued me.
My fishing trips were becoming monotonous, with the same lures producing diminishing returns. I needed something to shake things up, something that could provoke reaction strikes in pressured waters. The Strike King Tri-Wing Buzz King Chartreuse Soft Bait seemed to offer that edge.
Upon unboxing, the first thing that struck me was the vibrant chartreuse color and the diamond dust finish. It felt well-made for such an affordable lure, not cheap or flimsy like some others I’ve encountered. The tri-wing propeller seemed perfectly designed for creating maximum surface disturbance.
Compared to other buzzbaits I’ve used, like the Booyah Pond Magic Buzz and the Strike King Mini-King Spinnerbait, the Tri-Wing Buzz King looked more refined. The Diamond Dust skirt on the Tri-Wing Buzz King also looks more vibrant and enticing than other skirts. I chose this over the others because of its unique tri-wing propeller design and the promise of slower retrieves.
I was excited to test it out. I felt that its unique design could make it more enticing to fish in my area. The Strike King Tri-Wing Buzz King Chartreuse Soft Bait had the potential to be a game-changer, but I was prepared to be disappointed.

First Use Experience
I first tested the Strike King Tri-Wing Buzz King Chartreuse Soft Bait at my local lake, known for its heavily pressured bass population. I fished it along weed lines and near submerged timber on a sunny afternoon. The water was clear, and I was using a baitcasting setup with 15lb fluorocarbon line, as Strike King recommends.
The lure performed exceptionally well even in windy conditions. I was impressed by its ability to churn water and create a distinct buzzing sound that was different from anything else I’d thrown that day. I landed three bass in the first hour, all aggressive strikes right on the surface.
The lure was easy to use, requiring no special techniques beyond a steady retrieve. The chartreuse color was incredibly visible even in slightly murky water. I experienced no issues with the lure’s performance. The lure immediately started catching fish where others had failed.

After several weeks of regular use, the Strike King Tri-Wing Buzz King Chartreuse Soft Bait has held up remarkably well. There are minimal signs of wear and tear on the Diamond Dust head and skirt. The wire frame has retained its shape despite multiple fish catches and snags.
