First Impressions of Spot-Hogg Fast Eddie PM MRT Sight 1209703
The Spot-Hogg Fast Eddie PM MRT Sight 1209703 promises a blend of lightweight design, silent operation, and ease of use, aiming to be the hardcore hunter’s sight of choice. Spot-Hogg, a brand synonymous with quality and innovation in archery, has built a reputation for sights that can withstand the rigors of the field. I’ve always been drawn to single-pin sights for their simplicity and uncluttered view, so the Fast Eddie PM piqued my interest from the start.
I’ve spent years dealing with finicky multi-pin sights that buzz, rattle, and require constant readjustment. My goal was to find a rugged, reliable sight that allowed for quick, precise yardage adjustments in hunting situations. The promise of a silent, click-free adjustment knob and a lightweight frame convinced me to give the Fast Eddie PM a try.
Upon unboxing, the immediate impression was of quality and thoughtful design. The sight felt solid and well-built, despite its advertised lightweight nature, and the black anodized finish looked durable and resistant to scratches. Compared to my old CBE Tek Hybrid Pro, the Fast Eddie PM felt less bulky and more streamlined, promising improved maneuverability in tight hunting blinds.
My initial excitement stemmed from the Fast Eddie PM’s reputation for bombproof construction and user-friendly adjustments. I was impressed, and eager to see how it would perform under real-world hunting conditions. This sight felt like a step up in terms of simplicity, quality and silent operation, compared to the crowded view of multiple pins.
Real-World Testing: Putting Spot-Hogg Fast Eddie PM MRT Sight 1209703 to the Test
First Use Experience
My first outing with the Spot-Hogg Fast Eddie PM MRT Sight 1209703 was at my local archery range, where I spent several hours dialing it in. The range offered varying light conditions and distances, which provided a great initial test. The sight was incredibly easy to adjust.
The silent, click-free yardage knob was a game-changer compared to my previous sight. Adjusting the yardage in the field was smooth and precise, even with gloves on. One minor issue I noticed was that the pin brightness seemed to dim slightly in very bright sunlight, but this was easily remedied by adjusting the rheostat.
