Let’s Talk About SME Morale Patch Trunk Monkey
Let’s face it, the world of morale patches can be a little… serious. We’re all about tactical advantages, preparedness, and unwavering resolve. But sometimes, you just need a little levity, a little reminder to not take everything so seriously. That’s where the SME Morale Patch Trunk Monkey comes in.
I stumbled upon this patch while looking for a way to personalize my range bag without resorting to the usual skulls and crossbones. The SME Morale Patch Trunk Monkey, manufactured by SME, promised a touch of the absurd, a subtle nod to the unexpected chaos that life (and tactical situations) can throw our way. Upon receiving it, my initial thought was “Finally, something different!”.
In a market saturated with grim reaper patches and tactical flags, the SME Morale Patch Trunk Monkey stands out. Compared to more serious patches like those from Violent Little Machine Shop or even the standard Mil-Spec Monkey offerings, this patch offers pure, unadulterated silliness. It’s a far cry from the serious demeanor of a subdued flag patch or a callsign. My first impression? It was an instant mood booster.
Real-World Testing: Putting SME Morale Patch Trunk Monkey to the Test
First Use Experience
I first slapped the SME Morale Patch Trunk Monkey onto my range bag. It was a trip to the local outdoor range; a mix of sun and slightly muddy conditions made for a great day of shooting. The patch immediately sparked conversations with fellow shooters, many of whom chuckled and asked where I got it.
The Velcro backing held firm, even when I was slinging the bag around. The patch remained securely attached, even when brushing against rough surfaces. It definitely eased some tension and started conversations at the range.
Extended Use & Reliability
After a few months of use, the SME Morale Patch Trunk Monkey is still going strong. I have it on my range bag which sees use several times a month. There’s no noticeable fading or fraying of the stitching, and the Velcro still grips like new.
Maintenance is non-existent, and that is a big plus. It has outperformed my expectations, as cheaper patches I’ve had in the past have quickly faded or had their stitching come undone. The SME Morale Patch Trunk Monkey has been surprisingly durable.
