A2275–01 25% Off**
For over a decade, I’ve been immersed in the world of outdoor and tactical gear, and ammunition is a cornerstone of that experience. Today, I’m diving deep into the Sierra Bullets MatchKing .308 Winchester 175 Grain Hollow Point Boat Tail Brass Cased Centerfire Rifle Ammunition
A2275–01 25% Off, a name synonymous with precision and competition shooting. This particular round promises match-grade accuracy right out of the box, thanks to Sierra’s legendary MatchKing bullet paired with high-quality components.
My journey to this ammunition started with a frustrating string of inconsistent groupings during a local precision rifle match. My handloads, while carefully crafted, just weren’t cutting it against competitors using factory match ammo. I needed something reliable, consistent, and accurate without the time investment of perfecting a custom load.
Upon receiving the Sierra Bullets MatchKing ammunition, my first impression was one of quality. The brass casings gleamed, the bullets were uniformly seated, and the overall presentation exuded a sense of meticulous craftsmanship. The weight of the box felt substantial, promising consistent loads within.
I had been considering options from Federal Gold Medal Match and Hornady Match, both reputable brands. However, the Sierra MatchKing’s reputation for exceptional ballistic coefficient and the lure of a 25% discount sealed the deal. It felt like the perfect blend of performance and value.
Initially, I was excited but cautiously optimistic. I’ve been let down by “match-grade” ammo before, but the Sierra Bullets name carries weight. I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype.
Real-World Testing: Putting **Sierra Bullets MatchKing .308 Winchester 175 Grain Hollow Point Boat Tail Brass Cased Centerfire Rifle Ammunition

First Use Experience
My initial testing ground was a local outdoor shooting range with distances out to 600 yards. The weather was typical for a spring day – a slight crosswind and intermittent sunshine. My rifle is a custom-built .308 bolt action with a 24-inch barrel and a 1:10 twist rate, topped with a high-magnification scope.
The first few rounds downrange were immediately impressive. The recoil felt consistent, and the report was uniform. At 100 yards, I was consistently grouping shots within a single ragged hole.
The Sierra Bullets MatchKing ammunition performed admirably even as the wind picked up. Minimal adjustments were needed to stay on target at 300 yards. There were no failures to feed, fire, or eject.
I experienced no immediate issues, but I was surprised by the relatively mild recoil. I attribute this to the optimized powder load used by Sierra. It was a welcome surprise that allowed for quicker follow-up shots.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of using the Sierra Bullets MatchKing ammunition, it has become my go-to choice for both practice and competition. I’ve put approximately 500 rounds through my rifle with consistent results. The performance remains exceptional.
There are no signs of excessive wear and tear on my rifle. The brass casings eject cleanly, showing no signs of overpressure. Cleaning the rifle after each range session is straightforward.
Compared to my previous experiences with handloads, the Sierra Bullets MatchKing ammunition offers superior consistency and accuracy. It outperforms my best attempts at replicating match-grade performance. This saves me valuable time and effort.
