First Impressions of Savior Equipment Pro Touring Icon Variant Single/Double Rifle Case
The Savior Equipment Pro Touring Icon Variant Single/Double Rifle Case promises to be a discreet yet functional solution for transporting firearms. As someone who’s lugged around rifles in everything from military-grade hard cases to repurposed guitar gig bags, the concept of a low-profile, tennis racket-disguised rifle case immediately piqued my interest. Savior Equipment aims for covert transport while offering practical storage for range essentials, a proposition that could simplify my frequent trips to the range and offer peace of mind.
My interest in this product stemmed from a need for a case that doesn’t scream “gun” at every passerby. Living in an urban environment requires a certain level of discretion when transporting firearms, and the Savior Equipment Pro Touring Icon Variant appears to strike that balance. I’ve become increasingly frustrated with the blatant, tactical look of many rifle cases, which often attract unwanted attention and make blending in nearly impossible.
Upon unboxing, the Savior Equipment Pro Touring Icon Variant Single/Double Rifle Case impresses with its sturdy construction and well-thought-out interior. The 1680D Ballistic Nylon exterior feels durable and capable of withstanding everyday wear and tear. The tennis racket facade is convincingly subtle, and the overall design strikes a good balance between low-profile appearance and practical functionality.
Compared to other cases I’ve used, such as the Plano All Weather Tactical Gun Case and the Condor Outdoor Single Rifle Case, the Savior Equipment Pro Touring Icon Variant stands out due to its emphasis on discretion. While the Plano offers superior protection and the Condor boasts a more tactical appearance, the Savior Equipment case prioritizes blending in, making it ideal for situations where concealment is paramount. I chose this case over others for its unique ability to seamlessly integrate into everyday life without raising suspicion.
My initial impression is one of cautious optimism. While the case appears well-made and thoughtfully designed, its true test will be in its ability to withstand regular use and provide adequate protection for my firearms while maintaining its low-profile appearance. If it lives up to its promises, the Savior Equipment Pro Touring Icon Variant could become my go-to case for range trips and discreet transport.
Real-World Testing: Putting Savior Equipment Pro Touring Icon Variant Single/Double Rifle Case to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Savior Equipment Pro Touring Icon Variant Single/Double Rifle Case at my local shooting range. The range is located in a fairly public area, and I wanted to assess how well the case blended in during transport. The weather was mild, but a light drizzle added an element of moisture to the test.
The case performed admirably. Nobody gave me a second look as I walked from my car to the range, and the case easily accommodated my AR-15 pistol (SBR) with room to spare. The included magazine holders and pistol holster proved useful for organizing my gear, although adjusting the universal pistol holster took a few minutes to fine-tune.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of use, the Savior Equipment Pro Touring Icon Variant Single/Double Rifle Case has proven to be a reliable and practical option for discreet firearm transport. The 1680D Ballistic Nylon exterior shows no signs of wear and tear, even after being subjected to rough handling and exposure to the elements. The zippers are sturdy and operate smoothly, and the stitching remains intact.
Maintaining the case is simple. A quick wipe-down with a damp cloth is sufficient to remove dirt and grime, and the interior lining is easily cleaned. Compared to my previous experiences with more tactical-looking cases, the Savior Equipment case has exceeded my expectations in terms of discretion and ease of use. It effectively conceals its contents while providing convenient storage for essential range gear.
