Let’s Dive into Safariland SLS Military Tactical Holster – STX Foliage Green Foliage Green, Right Hand 6034-7312-541
The Safariland SLS Military Tactical Holster – STX Foliage Green Foliage Green, Right Hand 6034-7312-541 is a serious piece of kit designed for professionals who demand secure weapon retention and rapid deployment. This holster, manufactured by Safariland, boasts the renowned SLS (Self Locking System) for enhanced security and a durable SafariLaminate construction built to withstand harsh conditions. The foliage green color provides effective camouflage in various environments, making it a practical choice for military, law enforcement, and tactical applications.
My need for a holster like this stemmed from my involvement in search and rescue operations. I needed a holster that could reliably secure my sidearm while allowing for a quick draw in unpredictable situations. I was looking for something more secure than a standard friction holster, particularly during strenuous activities like climbing or rappelling.
Unboxing the Safariland SLS Military Tactical Holster – STX Foliage Green Foliage Green, Right Hand 6034-7312-541 revealed a robust and well-constructed piece of equipment. The SafariLaminate felt incredibly sturdy, and the SLS hood operated smoothly. The foliage green finish looked uniform and professional.
I considered the Blackhawk! Serpa Level 3 Tactical Holster and the Galco Miami Classic II Shoulder Holster before choosing the Safariland. The Serpa, while popular, raised concerns about accidental discharges due to its trigger finger release mechanism. The Galco, while comfortable for concealment, wasn’t ideal for the open carry required in my search and rescue role. The Safariland offered a better balance of security, speed, and durability.
My first impression was excitement mixed with a healthy dose of respect. This wasn’t a flimsy, off-the-shelf product; it felt like a serious tool designed for serious situations. It seemed like it would be a great addition to my equipment.

First Use Experience
My initial testing took place at an outdoor shooting range, simulating various tactical scenarios. I focused on practicing drawing and re-holstering under pressure. The weather was dry and sunny, providing optimal conditions for familiarization.
The SLS system initially required a bit of practice, but once I mastered the motion, it became incredibly fast and intuitive. The holster retained the Beretta 92F securely, even during simulated sprints and rolls. I noticed the importance of a deliberate, practiced draw stroke for the SLS to function smoothly.
There were no immediate issues, but the height of the holster on the leg shroud took some adjustment. I also found that I needed to adjust the leg straps for optimal comfort and stability during movement.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of use in various environments, the Safariland SLS Military Tactical Holster – STX Foliage Green Foliage Green, Right Hand 6034-7312-541 has proven its reliability and durability. I’ve used it during search and rescue exercises in dense forests, on rocky terrain, and in moderate rain. The holster has consistently retained the firearm securely, and the SLS mechanism continues to function flawlessly.
The SafariLaminate shows minimal signs of wear, despite being exposed to brush, rocks, and the occasional scrape. The foliage green finish has held up well, with no noticeable fading or discoloration. The holster is surprisingly easy to clean; a quick wipe down with a damp cloth is usually sufficient to remove dirt and grime.
Compared to previous holsters I’ve used, the Safariland significantly outperforms them in terms of retention, durability, and overall security. The peace of mind knowing my sidearm is securely retained is invaluable. Its performance has been nothing short of excellent.
