Let’s Dive into Safariland Single Mag Pouch For Fn Five-s
The Safariland Single Mag Pouch For Fn Five-s is a purpose-built accessory designed specifically for carrying magazines for the FN Five-seveN pistol. Manufactured by Safariland, a name synonymous with quality and durability in the law enforcement and tactical gear world, this pouch promises secure retention and rapid access to spare ammunition. It’s a seemingly simple product, but the devil is in the details, and I’m eager to dissect every aspect of its design and performance.
Having worked in tactical gear for over a decade, I’ve seen countless magazine pouches come and go, each with its own strengths and weaknesses. However, the specific requirements of the FN Five-seveN magazine, with its unique dimensions and high capacity, demand a specialized solution. I needed a reliable and accessible way to carry spare magazines for my FN Five-seveN during range sessions and training exercises, something that wouldn’t add excessive bulk or compromise my draw speed.
Upon receiving the pouch, I was immediately impressed by its robust construction. The basket weave pattern gives it a classic, professional look, while the overall feel suggests durable, long-lasting materials. It feels solid and well-made, like it could withstand serious abuse.
Compared to some universal magazine pouches I’ve used in the past, the Safariland Single Mag Pouch For Fn Five-s is far more tailored and secure. Generic pouches often suffer from poor retention, allowing magazines to shift or even fall out during movement. This is designed specifically for one type of magazine, and I expect it to perform better. Initial thoughts were positive; this looks like it could be a real winner.
My first impression was excitement. The Safariland Single Mag Pouch For Fn Five-s appears to be a high-quality, purpose-built accessory that addresses a specific need. I was eager to get it out to the range and see how it performed under real-world conditions.

There were no immediate issues or surprises with the pouch after the first-time use. The magazine retention was excellent, and the draw was smooth and consistent. I did notice that the basket weave pattern can attract dust, but that’s merely cosmetic.
