Breaking Down the Features of Safariland Model 7392 7ts Als Hi-ride Duty Holster – 1 out of 38 models
Specifications
The Safariland Model 7392 7ts Als Hi-ride Duty Holster – 1 out of 38 models is designed for specific firearm models; ensuring a precise fit is crucial. It features the Safariland Automatic Locking System (ALS), an internal locking device that secures the weapon in all directions upon holstering. The holster body is constructed from Safariland’s proprietary 7TS injection-molded nylon blend.
The 7TS material is heat and cold resistant, and it is also impervious to moisture, chemicals, and abrasions. Its high-ride design positions the firearm closer to the body, improving concealment and comfort, and reducing the risk of snagging on gear or obstacles. Weight varies depending on the specific firearm model it is designed for, but is typically lighter than comparable leather or Kydex holsters.
These specifications contribute directly to the holster’s overall performance and user experience. The ALS system offers unmatched security, preventing unauthorized removal of the firearm. The 7TS material provides exceptional durability and resistance to the elements, ensuring the holster can withstand harsh conditions. The high-ride design enhances comfort and concealability, especially during prolonged wear.
Performance & Functionality
The Safariland Model 7392 7ts Als Hi-ride Duty Holster – 1 out of 38 models excels in its primary function: securely retaining and providing quick access to a firearm. The ALS system is highly effective, requiring a deliberate thumb release to draw the weapon. This prevents accidental or unauthorized removal, but the release is intuitive and doesn’t impede a smooth, fast draw once mastered.
One notable strength is its exceptional durability. The 7TS material withstands abuse that would damage traditional holsters. The high-ride design offers a comfortable carry, especially when seated in a vehicle or wearing body armor.
One minor weakness is the potential for the ALS release to feel stiff initially. This can be remedied with practice and lubrication. Overall, the holster far exceeds expectations for a duty holster in its price range.
