The Safariland Model 1051 ALS Shoulder Holster, Right – 1 out of 6 models offers a unique blend of accessibility, retention, and comfort for those who prefer off-the-waist carry. Manufactured by Safariland, a trusted name in law enforcement and tactical gear, this holster is designed for right-handed users and features the company’s renowned Automatic Locking System (ALS) for enhanced weapon security. The ability to carry either vertically or horizontally adds versatility, making it stand out from more rigid shoulder holster designs.
I’ve spent years searching for the ideal shoulder holster system. My primary need was a comfortable and secure way to carry a full-sized pistol while hiking and hunting in areas where open carry isn’t ideal or practical.
The Safariland holster arrived in a simple, functional package. My initial impression was positive; the SafariLaminate material felt durable yet surprisingly lightweight, and the harness appeared well-constructed.
Compared to cheaper nylon shoulder holsters I’ve used in the past, this felt like a significant upgrade in both quality and design. I also considered the Galco Miami Classic II and the Bianchi X15, but I ultimately chose the Safariland for its ALS retention system and the option to switch between vertical and horizontal carry. I was immediately excited by the potential for customization and secure carry.
