Safariland 6377 ALS Belt Holster,HK USP 9/40 STX – 1 out of 5 models Review

What Makes Safariland 6377 ALS Belt Holster,HK USP 9/40 STX – 1 out of 5 models Stand Out?

The Safariland 6377 ALS Belt Holster,HK USP 9/40 STX – 1 out of 5 models is a meticulously crafted piece of equipment designed for secure firearm retention and rapid deployment. Manufactured by Safariland, a name synonymous with quality and reliability in the law enforcement and tactical communities, this holster features their proven Automatic Locking System (ALS). The ALS provides an intuitive and secure method of retention, making it a top choice for professionals and responsible firearm owners alike. This particular model is designed specifically for the HK USP 9/40, ensuring a snug and reliable fit.

For years, I’ve relied on level II and level III retention holsters in various operational environments, from patrol duty to private security details. The need for a reliable, yet accessible, holster for my personal HK USP 9/40 became paramount when I started competing in practical shooting competitions. I needed something that offered both security and speed.

My initial impression upon unboxing the Safariland 6377 ALS Belt Holster,HK USP 9/40 STX – 1 out of 5 models was one of robust quality. The STX finish looked durable and professional, while the overall construction felt solid and dependable. The holster’s weight felt appropriate – not too heavy to be cumbersome, but substantial enough to inspire confidence.

I considered the Blackhawk Serpa and the Blade-Tech Total Eclipse as alternatives. The Serpa’s finger-activated release, while popular, had garnered some safety concerns over the years, and I wanted something more intuitive and less prone to user error under stress. The Blade-Tech, while offering good concealment, didn’t provide the level of active retention I desired. Thus, the Safariland 6377 ALS Belt Holster,HK USP 9/40 STX – 1 out of 5 models won out.

My first impression was definitely excitement tempered by a bit of anticipation. I knew Safariland’s reputation, but I was eager to see if this holster lived up to the hype. The fit and finish looked excellent, and I couldn’t wait to put it through its paces.
