Let’s Talk About RTS Targets Universal Target Stopper
The RTS Targets Universal Target Stopper, manufactured by RTS Targets, promises a simple solution to a common problem: preventing targets from sliding or falling. This unassuming, black piece of equipment boasts a universal design, suggesting compatibility with a wide range of target types. At a mere $1.50, it’s an extremely affordable accessory, but does that translate to genuine utility?
My journey to finding the RTS Targets Universal Target Stopper began with endless frustration at the range. I was tired of constantly readjusting paper targets that would slip and slide down my target stands, especially on windy days. I needed something simple, effective, and inexpensive to remedy this constant annoyance.
Upon receiving the RTS Targets Universal Target Stopper, my initial impression was…underwhelmed. It’s a small, black piece of what feels like fairly standard plastic. It certainly wasn’t winning any design awards, but I wasn’t expecting it to.
I considered options like binder clips, duct tape, and even building my own stoppers out of scrap wood. Ultimately, I wanted something purpose-built and readily available. The low price of the RTS Targets Universal Target Stopper made it a low-risk gamble.
Honestly, my first thought was, “This is it?” It’s small and simple. I was cautiously optimistic, hoping it would live up to its “universal” claim and provide a reliable, no-fuss solution.
Real-World Testing: Putting RTS Targets Universal Target Stopper to the Test
First Use Experience
My first trial run with the RTS Targets Universal Target Stopper was at my local outdoor shooting range. The weather was typical for the area: a slight breeze with dry, dusty conditions. I used it with standard cardboard target stands and a variety of paper targets.
The initial setup was incredibly simple – just sliding the stopper onto the target stand before attaching the target. The RTS Targets Universal Target Stopper immediately prevented the targets from sliding down, even when subjected to the wind and the occasional stray shot that clipped the target edge. There were no issues or complexities.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of consistent use, the RTS Targets Universal Target Stopper continues to perform admirably. It’s become an indispensable part of my range kit. The stoppers still securely hold my targets in place.
There are no visible signs of wear and tear. The plastic seems durable enough to withstand regular handling and exposure to the elements. Cleaning is non-existent; they’re so simple that dirt and dust just brush right off.
Compared to my previous struggles with makeshift solutions, the RTS Targets Universal Target Stopper is a revelation. It has definitely exceeded my expectations. It allows me to focus on my shooting without the constant distraction of readjusting targets.
