Let’s Talk About Rothco PVC Military Skull & Knife Morale Patch
Morale patches are more than just decorative flair; they’re a statement. They showcase personality, affiliations, and even a sense of humor. Rothco‘s PVC Military Skull & Knife Morale Patch aims to be one such emblem, a small but bold addition to any tactical gear or apparel. For just $4.99, it promises a touch of edgy military style.
I’ve always appreciated a good patch; they personalize my gear and tell a story. I needed a small, durable patch to add to my range bag, something that wouldn’t snag or fade easily. The Rothco PVC Military Skull & Knife Morale Patch seemed like a good candidate with its PVC construction.
Upon receiving it, the first thing I noticed was the rigidity of the PVC. It felt durable and well-made, the details of the skull and knife design surprisingly crisp for its size. The colors were vibrant, a sharp contrast to the usual subdued tones of my tactical gear.
Compared to other patches I’ve used, mostly embroidered cloth ones, this Rothco patch felt significantly more robust. Many cloth patches fray and fade quickly, particularly after exposure to the elements. This PVC Military Skull & Knife Morale Patch gives the impression of being able to withstand some serious abuse. I picked this over a cheaper embroidered option, hoping for longevity and weather resistance.
Initially, I was excited by the potential for a long-lasting, visually striking patch. My initial impression was good, though I was also cautiously optimistic about how the PVC would hold up in extreme temperatures. It’s a simple morale patch, but the devil is always in the details.
Real-World Testing: Putting Rothco PVC Military Skull & Knife Morale Patch to the Test
First Use Experience
My first test for the Rothco PVC Military Skull & Knife Morale Patch was on my range bag during a typical range day. The range environment is dusty and sees a lot of sun exposure. I wanted to see how well the patch would adhere and whether the color would fade.
The patch performed well in the relatively dry conditions. It stayed firmly attached to the loop field on my bag, even with frequent handling. There was no noticeable fading or distortion of the image.
Attaching the patch was incredibly easy, thanks to the hook backing. It took only seconds to secure it to the loop field on my range bag. No issues after first-time use.
Extended Use & Reliability
After a few months of use, including a weekend camping trip and several trips to the range, the Rothco PVC Military Skull & Knife Morale Patch has held up surprisingly well. It has been exposed to rain, mud, and intense sunlight.
The patch’s durability has exceeded my expectations. There are no visible signs of wear and tear, no peeling, cracking, or fading. The colors remain as vibrant as when I first received it.
Maintaining the patch is incredibly simple: just wipe it down with a damp cloth when it gets dirty. There is no special care required. This is definitely a step up from cloth patches, which require more frequent washing.
In comparison to the standard embroidered patches I’ve used in the past, the Rothco patch is far more durable and resistant to the elements. It has outperformed those older patches significantly. It’s a clear winner in terms of longevity and low maintenance.
