Let’s Talk About Rivers Edge Treestands Lounger Tree Seat
The Rivers Edge Treestands Lounger Tree Seat promises ground-level hunting comfort with its thick padding and portable design. Offered by Rivers Edge Treestands, this seat aims to provide all-day support for hunters in run-and-gun scenarios. The ratchet strap attachment, padded armrests, and folding steel frame contribute to its appeal.
My back has been screaming at me after long sits on the ground during turkey season. I was looking for a lightweight and comfortable seating option that would allow me to remain mobile. The promise of padded comfort and easy setup made this tree seat seem like a potential solution to my discomfort.
Upon unboxing the Rivers Edge Treestands Lounger Tree Seat, my first impression was positive. The 3-inch foam pad felt substantial, and the steel frame seemed sturdy enough for its intended purpose. The camo pattern was effective and blended well with the natural environment.
I considered a few other options before deciding on this seat. Some competing models lacked the armrests, which I felt were crucial for long sits. Others were bulkier and heavier, defeating the purpose of a run-and-gun setup.
My initial reaction was excitement. I envisioned myself finally being able to sit comfortably for hours while waiting for that perfect shot. The seat felt promising; now it was time to put it to the test in the field.
Real-World Testing: Putting Rivers Edge Treestands Lounger Tree Seat to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the Rivers Edge Treestands Lounger Tree Seat during a turkey hunt in the rolling hills of eastern Oklahoma. The terrain was a mix of hardwoods and open fields, requiring frequent relocation to find active birds. I experienced both damp mornings and dry afternoons during the testing period.
The seat performed surprisingly well in the slightly damp conditions. The material seemed to repel moisture to some extent, preventing complete saturation. Setting up the seat was quick and easy, thanks to the simple ratchet strap attachment.
It took no time at all to get used to the seat. The thick padding provided immediate relief and comfort. The armrests were at a comfortable height, allowing me to relax my shoulders and focus on scanning the woods.
The only issue I encountered during the initial use was a slight squeaking sound from the steel frame when shifting my weight. This was easily remedied with a bit of lubricant. I was otherwise pleasantly surprised by the overall comfort and ease of use.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of regular use, the Rivers Edge Treestands Lounger Tree Seat has held up reasonably well. There are no major signs of wear and tear on the padding or frame. The ratchet strap remains functional and secure.
The seat has proven to be quite durable. I’ve used it in various terrains, including rocky hillsides and muddy creek bottoms, without any significant damage. The steel frame has maintained its shape and integrity.
Cleaning the seat is simple. I usually wipe it down with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. I occasionally apply a fabric protector to the padding to help prevent stains and repel moisture.
Compared to previous ground hunting experiences, this seat is a significant upgrade. It’s far more comfortable than sitting directly on the ground or using a flimsy folding stool. The Rivers Edge Treestands Lounger Tree Seat has exceeded my expectations.
