Let’s Talk About ReadyMan EDC Survival Cards 18 Total Survival Kit
For those of us who spend our lives in the outdoors, from tactical operations to weekend hikes, the need for a compact, reliable survival kit is paramount. The ReadyMan EDC Survival Cards 18 Total Survival Kit promises just that – a credit-card sized package brimming with essential tools for wilderness emergencies, hostage escape, and medical situations. This product, crafted by ReadyMan, aims to give you peace of mind, knowing that critical survival tools are always within reach.
My journey to discovering the ReadyMan EDC Survival Cards 18 Total Survival Kit began with a frustrating experience on a solo hunting trip. I realized that carrying a bulky survival kit wasn’t always practical, but being completely unprepared was a dangerous gamble.
Upon unboxing, the immediate impression was one of surprising density. The four cards feel solid, and the stainless steel construction suggests durability.
Compared to carrying a dedicated multi-tool or a larger survival tin, the ReadyMan EDC Survival Cards offer unparalleled portability. While a Leatherman offers more robust functionality, its size isn’t always convenient. The credit card format makes it easy to carry in a wallet, pocket, or even taped to the inside of a pack.
My initial reaction was cautiously optimistic. The concept is ingenious, but the real test would be seeing how these miniature tools perform in real-world scenarios.
Real-World Testing: Putting ReadyMan EDC Survival Cards 18 Total Survival Kit to the Test
First Use Experience
My first foray with the ReadyMan EDC Survival Cards was on a weekend backcountry fishing trip in the Sierra Nevada mountains. I primarily focused on testing the fisherman survival card, as that was the most immediately applicable to my activity.
The environment was challenging: damp mornings, sunny afternoons, and the constant risk of unexpected changes in weather. Attempting to use the card to create a fishing snare was more complicated than anticipated.
It required a delicate touch and a decent amount of dexterity to properly manipulate the small components. The tiny hooks and line proved somewhat frustrating to work with at first.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of carrying the ReadyMan EDC Survival Cards, I incorporated them into my everyday carry (EDC). I found myself relying on the medical card’s information more than I expected.
The cards have held up well with no signs of bending or damage, despite being carried in my wallet. The stainless steel appears resistant to corrosion, a critical factor for any survival tool.
Maintenance has been minimal; a quick wipe with a damp cloth is usually sufficient. The cards haven’t disappointed me regarding size and portability, outperforming most larger survival kits in that regard.
