First Impressions of RAVE Sports Rave Sports 23002 Hyper 2 Towable 2
The RAVE Sports Rave Sports 23002 Hyper 2 Towable 2 is a couch-style towable designed for two people, promising a comfortable and exciting ride on the water. From RAVE Sports, a well-known name in recreational water sports equipment, this towable boasts a 71″x 68″x26″ footprint. The couch design hints at a relaxing experience, but the “Hyper” designation suggests there’s more to it than just lounging.
I was looking for a towable that could comfortably accommodate two adults while still providing an exhilarating ride for my family and friends. I wanted something more stable than a traditional tube and more engaging than just a flat platform. I’ve always been a fan of RAVE Sports products because they seem to balance quality and value, so this one immediately caught my eye.
Upon unboxing, I was impressed with the overall size and the sturdy feel of the material. The RAVE Sports Rave Sports 23002 Hyper 2 Towable 2 felt well-constructed, with reinforced stitching and durable-looking handles. It certainly seemed ready to withstand some serious water action.
I considered the Airhead Mach 2 and the Sportsstuff Chariot Warbird 2, but I chose the RAVE Sports Hyper 2 because of its couch-style design, which seemed like it would offer more back support and comfort. The others looked fun, but less relaxing for longer rides. I was excited to see if the Hyper 2 lived up to its name and provided both comfort and excitement.
Real-World Testing: Putting RAVE Sports Rave Sports 23002 Hyper 2 Towable 2 to the Test
First Use Experience
I tested the RAVE Sports Rave Sports 23002 Hyper 2 Towable 2 on a local lake during a warm summer weekend. The water was relatively calm, and the weather was perfect for watersports. I hooked it up to my 200 HP inboard/outboard boat and prepared for some fun.
The towable performed admirably even in some choppier water. Its wide base provided excellent stability, and the couch design allowed riders to lean back and enjoy the ride without feeling like they were constantly fighting to stay on. The Hyper 2 proved easy to use; no special skills or adjustments were needed.
The only minor issue was figuring out the best inflation pressure. I initially over-inflated it, making the ride a little too firm. After releasing some air, it became much more comfortable and responsive.
Extended Use & Reliability
After a full summer season of use, the RAVE Sports Rave Sports 23002 Hyper 2 Towable 2 has held up incredibly well. There are no signs of significant wear and tear. The material has resisted fading from sun exposure, and the seams remain strong.
Maintaining the Hyper 2 is simple; I just rinse it off with fresh water after each use and store it in a cool, dry place when not in use. This prevents mildew and keeps it looking its best. Compared to previous towables I’ve owned, the RAVE Sports Hyper 2 is noticeably more durable and easier to maintain. The construction quality is superior.
