Let’s Dive into Qad Ultra Rest Hunter
The Qad Ultra Rest Hunter is designed for archers seeking a dependable drop-away arrow rest without breaking the bank. This rest, manufactured by Qad, promises total arrow containment, smooth operation, and adjustments for precise tuning.
I’ve been shooting bows for over a decade, and I’ve seen arrow rests come and go, from simple stick-on models to high-end, micro-adjustable systems. Lately, I have been looking for a reliable drop-away rest for my backup hunting bow that won’t empty my wallet. I needed a rest that provided full arrow containment and easy adjustments.
My first impression upon unboxing the Qad Ultra Rest Hunter was that it seemed solid and well-built. The CNC aluminum construction felt sturdy, and the thumbwheel felt smooth and reliable. It wasn’t overly flashy, but it seemed like a solid, functional piece of equipment.
I considered the Whisker Biscuit and some other basic drop-away rests. The Whisker Biscuit is simple, but it can affect arrow flight, and many other drop-away rests lacked the full containment and fine-tuning capabilities that I wanted. The Qad Ultra Rest Hunter appeared to offer a good balance of features and affordability. I was cautiously optimistic about its performance and eager to put it through its paces.

I have not noticed any significant wear and tear, and the noise-reducing felt seems to be holding up. Cleaning and maintenance are simple; I just wipe it down with a damp cloth occasionally. Compared to some of the more complex rests I’ve used in the past, the Qad Ultra Rest Hunter is refreshingly simple to maintain and performs just as well, or better.
