The Pro-Shot Cleaning Patches Cotton 1.125″ Sq 22-270 Cal 500 Per Pack Made a Bold First Impression
As a seasoned outdoor and tactical gear specialist, I’ve seen my fair share of cleaning supplies. Cleaning patches, often overlooked, are critical for firearm maintenance. I recently got my hands on the Pro-Shot Cleaning Patches Cotton 1.125″ Sq 22-270 Cal 500 Per Pack and was keen to see how they stacked up against the competition.
My quest for these patches began with a simple frustration. Cheaper patches often leave lint behind, which is a pain when trying to keep a precision rifle clean. This led me to search for a high-quality cotton patch that wouldn’t compromise the integrity of my firearms. Opening the pack, the first thing I noticed was the consistent size and the clean, white appearance of the cotton.
Compared to generic patches I’ve used in the past, these felt immediately different. The Pro-Shot patches seemed denser and more tightly woven, promising better absorbency and less lint. I had been considering another brand known for pre-cut sizes, but the Pro-Shot offered a better quantity at a more reasonable price point. My initial impression was definitely positive; these seemed like a step above the bargain-bin options.
Real-World Testing: Putting Pro-Shot Cleaning Patches Cotton 1.125″ Sq 22-270 Cal 500 Per Pack to the Test
First Use Experience
My first test was at the range, cleaning my .223 AR-15 after a dusty afternoon of drills. The Pro-Shot patch slid smoothly through the bore, soaking up residue without tearing or leaving cotton fibers behind. The 1.125″ size was perfect for a snug fit, ensuring maximum contact with the barrel’s surface. I even used these to clean some larger caliber weapons, by wrapping them around a larger bore brush.
I found that these patches performed remarkably well even in slightly damp conditions, effectively absorbing moisture and preventing rust. They were easy to use; just wrap one around your cleaning jag and push it through the barrel. There weren’t any real surprises during the initial cleaning, just a consistent, reliable performance.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of regular use, cleaning everything from my .22LR pistol to my .270 hunting rifle, these patches have proven their worth. They’ve held up exceptionally well, showing no significant wear or tear. Maintaining these patches is simple – toss the used ones. These patches are single-use, so there’s no maintenance involved.
Compared to my previous experience with cheaper patches that would shred easily, the Pro-Shot patches have been a significant upgrade. The difference in lint left behind is substantial. The Pro-Shot Cleaning Patches Cotton 1.125″ Sq 22-270 Cal 500 Per Pack consistently outperform the cheaper alternatives I’ve used.
