Let’s Dive into Prest-O-Fit Wraparound+Plus RV Step Rug
The Prest-O-Fit Wraparound+Plus RV Step Rug is a simple, yet effective accessory designed to improve the look and functionality of your RV steps. Manufactured by Prest-O-Fit, this rug promises to protect your RV’s interior by reducing dirt and debris tracked in from the outdoors, while also adding a touch of style to your RV’s exterior. The promise of easy installation and durability using weather-resistant materials makes it an appealing solution for RV owners looking to upgrade their setup.
Having spent years navigating the great outdoors, one of my biggest pet peeves has always been the constant battle against tracked-in dirt and mud. I needed a solution that was simple to install, easy to clean, and durable enough to withstand the rigors of constant use during camping season.
Upon unboxing the Prest-O-Fit Wraparound+Plus RV Step Rug, I was immediately impressed by the feel of the UV-protected outdoor turf. The marine backing felt robust, suggesting a good level of weather resistance. It was lightweight, which is essential for RV accessories, and the green color appeared vibrant and welcoming.
Compared to universal rubber step mats that I’ve used in the past, or even some DIY carpet solutions, the Prest-O-Fit Wraparound+Plus RV Step Rug stood out for its wraparound design and ease of installation. I specifically chose this rug over other options because of the wraparound feature – it offered more complete coverage and seemed less likely to slip off the steps. My first impression was positive; I was eager to see how it would perform in the field.
Real-World Testing: Putting Prest-O-Fit Wraparound+Plus RV Step Rug to the Test
First Use Experience
My first test of the Prest-O-Fit Wraparound+Plus RV Step Rug took place during a week-long camping trip to the Oregon coast. The weather was predictably unpredictable, with periods of sunshine interspersed with rain and dampness. Installation was surprisingly easy. The included springs allowed for a secure and snug fit around my RV’s steps.
During the rainy periods, the rug did an admirable job of trapping mud and water, significantly reducing the amount of dirt tracked into the RV. Even when wet, the turf provided a decent grip, making the steps feel safer. There were no unexpected issues or surprises, only a sense of satisfaction that something so simple could be so effective.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of use, including multiple camping trips and various weather conditions, the Prest-O-Fit Wraparound+Plus RV Step Rug has held up remarkably well. There are no significant signs of wear and tear. Despite constant exposure to sun, rain, and dirt, the color hasn’t faded, and the turf remains intact.
Cleaning is a breeze. A simple hosing down removes most dirt and debris. For tougher stains, a mild soap and brush do the trick. It definitely outperforms the bare metal steps of the RV, which would quickly become slippery and covered in grime. My previous attempt at using a rubber mat always seemed to slide around. The Prest-O-Fit Wraparound+Plus RV Step Rug has stayed securely in place.
