Perko Delta Series 48″ White All Round Pole Light Review

Let’s Talk About Perko Delta Series 48″ White All Round Pole Light

The Perko Delta Series 48″ White All Round Pole Light is a seemingly simple piece of boating equipment, but its importance cannot be overstated. It is designed by Perko to provide the necessary 360-degree visibility required for safe navigation at night, ensuring your boat is seen by others, and preventing accidents.

I’ve been boating for years, and ensuring my vessel complies with safety regulations has always been paramount. My old pole light, a generic model I’d picked up cheaply, had finally given up the ghost, leaving me needing a replacement before my next trip out on the lake. The promise of a universal fit, adjustable head, and reduced glare design drew me to the Perko Delta Series 48″ White All Round Pole Light.

Upon unboxing, my initial impression was that it was a solid, well-constructed piece of equipment. The white pole felt sturdy and the lens appeared to be of good quality. The adjustable head feature looked like it would solve some alignment issues I’d experienced with my previous light.

I considered a couple of other options, primarily the Attwood 48″ LED pole light and a similar offering from West Marine. I chose the Perko for its purported universal fit and the reputation of the Perko brand for quality and reliability. The adjustable head was also a major selling point, promising a hassle-free installation.

My first impression was positive. I was excited to see if the Perko Delta Series 48″ White All Round Pole Light would live up to its promises of universal compatibility and improved visibility.

Real-World Testing: Putting Perko Delta Series 48″ White All Round Pole Light to the Test

First Use Experience

I first tested the Perko Delta Series 48″ White All Round Pole Light on a late evening fishing trip on Lake Huron. The conditions were relatively calm, but the darkness was profound, making proper lighting essential.

The Perko Delta Series 48″ White All Round Pole Light performed admirably. It was easy to install, thanks to the universal base compatibility, and the light was bright and clearly visible from a distance. The adjustable head allowed me to ensure the light was perfectly vertical, regardless of the angle of my boat’s mounting surface.

The only slight issue I encountered was that the initial tightening of the adjustable head required a little extra effort to ensure it stayed in place. However, once secured, it held firm throughout the entire trip.

After several weeks of regular use, the Perko Delta Series 48″ White All Round Pole Light has held up exceptionally well. There are no signs of wear and tear, and the light continues to shine brightly and reliably.
