The Original Folding Cushions Made a Bold First Impression
The Original Folding Cushions promise a durable, waterproof, and lightweight seating solution for the outdoors. This cushion, cloaked in silent Invision camo fabric, is specifically designed for tree stand hunters and anyone needing a portable seat. My interest was piqued by the Original Folding Cushions’ potential to alleviate the discomfort of long sits in treestands, a chronic issue during deer season.
Unboxing the Original Folding Cushions revealed a compact, folded pad, surprisingly lightweight. The Invision camo pattern is effective, blending well with typical woodland environments. The softek closed cell foam felt dense and resilient, suggesting good support.
Compared to other portable cushions I’ve used – including a gel-filled stadium seat and a cheap, thin foam pad – the Original Folding Cushions seemed to offer a better balance of portability and potential comfort. The gel seat was heavy and bulky; the cheap foam provided minimal cushioning. The promise of waterproofness also set these apart. My initial impression was positive; I was eager to test their performance in the field.
Real-World Testing: Putting Original Folding Cushions to the Test
First Use Experience
My first experience with the Original Folding Cushions was during a late-season deer hunt in northern Wisconsin. I used it in my treestand, where I typically spend 4-6 hours per sit. The weather was cold, around 25 degrees Fahrenheit, with a light dusting of snow.
The Original Folding Cushions provided a noticeable improvement in comfort compared to sitting directly on the treestand seat. The waterproof softek closed cell foam effectively insulated me from the cold metal. There was no need to make adjustments, thanks to the cushion remaining quiet and stable beneath me.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of use, the Original Folding Cushions have held up remarkably well. There are no signs of wear and tear despite being subjected to repeated compression, exposure to rain and snow, and transport in my hunting pack. The Invision camo fabric is showing no signs of fading or tearing.
Maintenance has been simple: a quick wipe down with a damp cloth removes mud and debris. The waterproof nature of the foam makes cleanup a breeze. Compared to my previous experiences with other seat cushions, the Original Folding Cushions have significantly outperformed them in durability and weather resistance.
