On Time Wildlife Feeders Elite Lifetime Game Feeder w/ Tripod Review

First Impressions of On Time Wildlife Feeders Elite Lifetime Game Feeder w/ Tripod

The On Time Wildlife Feeders Elite Lifetime Game Feeder w/ Tripod promises a durable and efficient way to manage wildlife feeding, and I was eager to see if it lived up to the hype. As someone who has been setting up and maintaining game feeders for over a decade, I’ve dealt with everything from flimsy plastic models to cumbersome metal behemoths. My initial hope was that this feeder would offer a balance of durability, ease of use, and consistent performance.

My property has struggled with deer overpopulation impacting my landscaping. I needed a feeder that could reliably dispense feed, attract deer away from my prized petunias, and withstand the elements. The Elite Lifetime Feeder’s digital programming and promise of long-lasting battery life were particularly appealing.

Unboxing the On Time Wildlife Feeders Elite Lifetime Game Feeder w/ Tripod, I was immediately impressed by the sturdiness of the aluminum construction. The powder-coated sectional legs of the tripod felt robust, and the feeder unit itself seemed well-assembled. Compared to cheaper plastic feeders I’ve used in the past, this felt like a significant upgrade in terms of build quality.

I considered the Moultrie Pro Hunter Feeder and the Wildgame Innovations Quick-Set Feeder before settling on the On Time Wildlife Feeders Elite Lifetime Game Feeder w/ Tripod. The Moultrie was cheaper, but had a history of motor issues. The Wildgame Innovations model was simpler to set up, but the all-plastic construction made it less durable.

My first impression was definitely positive; the Elite Lifetime Feeder appeared to be a well-built, thoughtfully designed piece of equipment that could potentially solve my deer management woes. I was excited to get it set up and put it to the test.

Real-World Testing: Putting On Time Wildlife Feeders Elite Lifetime Game Feeder w/ Tripod to the Test

First Use Experience

I set up the On Time Wildlife Feeders Elite Lifetime Game Feeder w/ Tripod in a wooded area about 50 yards from my property line. The setup process was straightforward; the one-bolt assembly made quick work of attaching the feeder unit to the tripod. I programmed it to dispense feed three times a day: once in the early morning, once at midday, and once in the late afternoon.

During the first week, we experienced a mix of weather conditions, including a heavy rainstorm and several days of intense sunshine. The Elite Lifetime Feeder performed flawlessly, dispensing the programmed amount of feed each time. I was relieved to see that the digital timer was accurate, and the feed distribution was consistent.

The only initial surprise was the sound of the motor; it’s not deafening, but definitely audible within about 20 yards. I’ll need to consider this when setting up near sensitive wildlife.

Extended Use & Reliability

After three months of continuous use, the On Time Wildlife Feeders Elite Lifetime Game Feeder w/ Tripod has proven to be remarkably reliable. The aluminum construction has held up well against the elements, with no signs of rust or corrosion. The sectional legs of the tripod remain sturdy, even after being subjected to strong winds and occasional bumps from curious deer.

I’ve only had to refill the feeder twice during this period, thanks to its large 200 lb capacity. Cleaning is simple; I just hose down the feeder unit and wipe it dry.

Compared to my previous experience with cheaper feeders that frequently malfunctioned or required constant maintenance, the Elite Lifetime Feeder has been a breath of fresh air. It consistently outperforms those older models, and I’m confident it will continue to do so for years to come.
