The MUDDY COMPLETE SEAT Made a Bold First Impression
The MUDDY COMPLETE SEAT promises a simple, yet crucial upgrade for any hunter or outdoorsman relying on treestands. From the MUDDY brand, known for its affordable hunting accessories, the MUDDY MUD-GS1105 COMPLETE SEAT aims to replace worn-out or uncomfortable seats, offering a more pleasant and potentially longer hunt.
What prompted my search for a replacement seat was the dreaded back pain and discomfort after extended sits in my aging treestand. The factory seat had long lost its cushioning, and I was looking for a durable, comfortable, and easy-to-install alternative without breaking the bank. Upon unboxing, the MUDDY COMPLETE SEAT struck me as straightforward and functional; its no-frills design suggested a focus on practicality over aesthetics, which I appreciated.
Having used competing seats from brands like Summit and Millennium in the past, I specifically chose the MUDDY COMPLETE SEAT for its universal design and promised ease of installation. Many competitor seats are specific to certain treestand models. My initial impression was cautiously optimistic. It seemed like a solid product, but the true test would be in the field.
Real-World Testing: Putting MUDDY COMPLETE SEAT to the Test
First Use Experience
My first field test of the MUDDY COMPLETE SEAT was during an early-season bow hunt in the rugged hills of Pennsylvania. The temperature was cool and damp, a typical fall morning, and I was eager to see if this seat could make a difference during my multi-hour wait. Installation on my older API treestand was remarkably easy, requiring only basic tools and a few minutes.
The seat performed admirably in the damp conditions, showing no signs of slippage or discomfort. The slightly thicker padding compared to my original seat provided noticeably better support, delaying the onset of back fatigue. While the seat wasn’t plush, it was a definite improvement.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of regular use during deer season, the MUDDY COMPLETE SEAT has proven to be a reliable addition to my hunting gear. So far, the seat has held up well against the elements, showing only minor signs of wear on the fabric from rubbing against tree bark. Cleaning is a breeze; a quick wipe down with a damp cloth removes most dirt and grime.
Compared to my previous experiences with treestand seats, the MUDDY COMPLETE SEAT holds its own. It’s not the most luxurious option on the market, but it delivers a solid balance of comfort, durability, and affordability. I feel confident it will last for multiple seasons with proper care.
