Mission First Tactical Tekko KeyMod Quick Detach Sling Mounts Review

Let’s Dive into Mission First Tactical Tekko KeyMod Quick Detach Sling Mounts

The Mission First Tactical Tekko KeyMod Quick Detach Sling Mounts offer a streamlined and robust solution for attaching a quick detach sling to any KeyMod-compatible rail system. Manufactured by Mission First Tactical, these mounts promise a low-profile, snag-resistant design coupled with a secure, non-rotating sling attachment point. I’ve spent years rigging and running firearms, so naturally, my interest was piqued, particularly given the ever-increasing demand for dependable and adaptable sling mounting options.

For far too long, I struggled with sling mounts that either loosened over time or presented awkward angles for sling attachment. I needed a QD mount that was both strong and allowed for natural weapon manipulation. The promise of a non-rotating interface and snag-free design made the Mission First Tactical Tekko KeyMod Quick Detach Sling Mounts stand out from the sea of options.

Upon unboxing, the immediate impression was one of solid, purposeful construction. The anodized aluminum felt robust in my hands, and the mounting hardware looked equally well-made. Its simple design belies a potential for significant utility.

While similar products like the Magpul QD Sling Mount and the BCM KeyMod QD Sling Mount exist, the Mission First Tactical offering presented a unique combination of price and features. The Mission First Tactical Tekko KeyMod Quick Detach Sling Mounts seemed a more streamlined solution compared to the bulkier BCM option. My initial assessment was one of cautious optimism, ready to put these mounts through the rigors of real-world use.

Real-World Testing: Putting Mission First Tactical Tekko KeyMod Quick Detach Sling Mounts to the Test

First Use Experience

My first test of the Mission First Tactical Tekko KeyMod Quick Detach Sling Mounts occurred during a tactical carbine course at a local shooting range. The range offered a variety of scenarios, from close-quarters drills to longer-range engagements, providing a diverse testing environment. I quickly appreciated the mount’s low profile and ease of use when transitioning between different firing positions.

Even after repeated manipulations of the rifle, the QD sling swivel remained securely locked in place, thanks to the non-rotating interface. The mount held up well in the dusty range conditions. There was never a feeling of looseness or shifting throughout the entire day of strenuous training.

Extended Use & Reliability

After several months of consistent use, the Mission First Tactical Tekko KeyMod Quick Detach Sling Mounts have proven to be a reliable and durable addition to my AR-15. There are no signs of significant wear and tear on the aluminum body. Regular cleaning with a brush and light oil has kept them in optimal working condition.

Compared to previous sling mounts that exhibited loosening or rotation issues, these mounts have consistently performed without fail. Their simple, robust design inspires confidence in their long-term reliability. They significantly outperformed my previous experiences with cheaper, less robust QD sling mounting options.
