The MDT Sporting Goods Inc Traveller Shooting Bag Multi-Cam Made a Bold First Impression
As someone deeply entrenched in the world of outdoor and tactical gear for over a decade, I’ve seen countless shooting bags come and go. So when the MDT Sporting Goods Inc Traveller Shooting Bag Multi-Cam arrived, I approached it with a healthy dose of skepticism, tempered with genuine curiosity. Could this relatively affordable bag truly stand out in a market saturated with options?
I was initially drawn to the MDT Sporting Goods Inc Traveller Shooting Bag Multi-Cam because of my constant search for a reliable and portable shooting platform. Long range shooting requires stability, and improvising on the range with whatever is at hand is never ideal. I needed something lightweight, durable, and easy to deploy in various shooting positions.
Upon unboxing, the MDT Sporting Goods Inc Traveller Shooting Bag Multi-Cam immediately impressed me with its robust feel. The 500D Cordura fabric, in the always-practical Multi-Cam pattern, felt incredibly durable, suggesting a product built to withstand the rigors of the range and the field. It felt significantly more substantial than other budget-friendly shooting bags I’ve encountered.
Compared to a basic, sand-filled sock or even some of the higher-end, pre-filled bags I’ve used, the MDT Sporting Goods Inc Traveller Shooting Bag Multi-Cam stood out with its promise of durability and portability. I chose this over permanently filled options due to travel and storage considerations, appreciating the flexibility it offered. My first impression was definitely positive; I was genuinely excited to put this bag through its paces.
Real-World Testing: Putting MDT Sporting Goods Inc Traveller Shooting Bag Multi-Cam to the Test
First Use Experience
My initial testing ground for the MDT Sporting Goods Inc Traveller Shooting Bag Multi-Cam was my local outdoor shooting range. The day was moderately windy, a common occurrence, and I set up at the 200-yard line to test the bag’s stability with my .308 bolt-action rifle. Filling the bag with readily available sand from the range made it immediately usable.
The MDT Sporting Goods Inc Traveller Shooting Bag Multi-Cam performed admirably under these conditions. Even with the wind gusts, the bag provided a stable and consistent platform, noticeably reducing wobble compared to shooting off a bipod alone. It needed a little adjustment to get the right height and support, but the flexibility of the fill allowed for a customized feel.
My only minor issue during the first use was related to the fill material. The range sand, while convenient, wasn’t perfectly clean. I should have used a liner inside the bag.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several weeks of regular use, the MDT Sporting Goods Inc Traveller Shooting Bag Multi-Cam has proven to be a reliable and durable piece of kit. I’ve used it in various weather conditions, from hot and dusty days to slightly damp mornings, and the Cordura fabric has held up exceptionally well. There are no signs of wear and tear, no frayed edges, and the stitching remains strong.
Maintenance has been minimal; a simple wipe-down with a damp cloth is all it takes to keep the bag clean. Compared to some of the leather shooting bags I’ve owned, which require regular conditioning, the MDT Sporting Goods Inc Traveller Shooting Bag Multi-Cam is refreshingly low-maintenance. Overall, the MDT Sporting Goods Inc Traveller Shooting Bag Multi-Cam has outperformed my expectations.
