I was looking for a way to add a little personality to my range bag without being overly serious. I wanted something that would stand out and perhaps even lighten the mood during training sessions. The Maxpedition Googly Eyes PVC Morale Patch – Set of 2 seemed like the perfect solution: small, durable, and undeniably amusing.
My first impression upon unboxing was that they were smaller than I initially imagined, but the PVC material felt robust and well-made. The googly eyes themselves are firmly attached, suggesting they can withstand regular use. Compared to other morale patches, like embroidered flags or serious tactical symbols, these stand out because of their sheer silliness. I chose these because they were a departure from the norm, a lighthearted way to customize my gear.
I was excited and slightly amused upon receiving them. They were exactly what I hoped for: a simple and fun way to add some flair to my kit.
Real-World Testing: Putting Maxpedition Googly Eyes PVC Morale Patch – Set of 2 to the Test
First Use Experience
I primarily tested these patches on my range bag and my tactical backpack during various outdoor activities. This included trips to the shooting range, day hikes, and even a weekend camping trip in moderately wet conditions. The patches were exposed to sunlight, light rain, and the general wear and tear of being attached to a bag that was frequently moved and handled.
The patches held up well to the conditions. The PVC material proved to be water-resistant, and the googly eyes remained firmly attached even after repeated exposure to jostling and movement. They were incredibly easy to attach to the loop fields on my bags, and I didn’t need any special tools or modifications. No issues arose during the initial use; they were exactly as expected.
Extended Use & Reliability
After several months of use, the Maxpedition Googly Eyes PVC Morale Patch – Set of 2 continues to hold up remarkably well. There are no signs of fading, cracking, or peeling on the PVC material. The googly eyes are still securely attached.
The durability of these patches has been impressive. Despite being subjected to a variety of conditions, including being snagged on branches during hikes and exposed to direct sunlight during range days, they have shown no significant wear and tear. Cleaning is simple. I simply wipe them down with a damp cloth to remove any dirt or grime. In comparison to some embroidered patches I’ve used in the past, these are far easier to maintain and seem more resistant to fading.
