The Magpul ZHUKOV-S Stock Folding Right Side Flat Dark Earth Synthetic for AK-Platform Made a Bold First Impression
After a decade in the tactical gear world, I’ve seen countless AK modifications, some brilliant, some… not so much. When I first saw the Magpul ZHUKOV-S Stock Folding Right Side Flat Dark Earth Synthetic for AK-Platform, I knew I had to get my hands on it. Magpul has a reputation for quality and innovation, and this stock promised to bring the AK platform into the 21st century with its folding, collapsible design and modularity.
My biggest gripe with my trusty AK has always been the traditional stock; it felt clunky and ill-suited for dynamic shooting. I needed something that offered improved ergonomics, adjustability, and the ability to collapse for storage and transport. The ZHUKOV-S seemed to be the answer to my prayers.
Unboxing the ZHUKOV-S, my initial impression was positive. The Flat Dark Earth synthetic felt robust and well-made. The folding mechanism clicked firmly into place, and the adjustable length-of-pull was a welcome sight. Compared to the standard wood stock and a cheaper polymer stock I’d tried before, the Magpul offered a significant upgrade in terms of both feel and functionality; the older stocks felt flimsy and provided zero adjustability.
I was excited, to say the least. This felt like the upgrade my AK deserved.
